What's this? A show on the N that's new and doesn't allow us to be spoiled by Canadians? Weird. I have to say, I'm kind of looking forward to checking out this show. I'm hoping it doesn't suck but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I don't think there was a thread for this already, but if so, just close this because I'm blind.

Summary:
The Carlin Family arrives in Los Angeles and finds themselves unprepared for L.A.'s fast paced, ethnically diverse— "anything goes" environment. Sixteen-year-old Spencer Carlin never felt like she fit in small town America and now she's beginning to question everything. Glen Carlin is a handsome, outgoing 17-year-old. He's an awesome basketball player, popular with the girls, the guy everyone wants to be around. Glen seems to have the world in his pocket. Spencer and Glen are joined by their adopted brother, Clay. Clay Carlin is 17, smart, sarcastic, and African-American. He is looking forward to forging his own identity, but finds that "being black" in L.A. is a test he may not pass.

Spencer Carlin (she is totally adorable and I am v. shallow)
From the outside Spencer seems like the stereotypical "girl," her recent move from small-town Ohio to frenetic Los Angeles has left her questioning everything — and everyone — close to her. With her parents bickering and her brothers adjusting to their new lives, she's latched on to Ashley — a wild child who schools her on life in L.A.

Glen Carlin (wtf, he's not that cute.)
Glen is the handsome, all-American jock — a basketball god who's all set to be the star of his school. The guys want to be him and the girls want to be with him. While he loves his sister Spencer and their brother Clay, he endlessly teases them.

Clay Carlin (Clay Aiken will always pop in my head first. Sadly.)
Clay spent his first eight years in foster care until the Carlins adopted him, finally giving him a place to call home. He's smart and funny — a hard worker who stays out of trouble because of his desire to be the perfect son. Unlike Glen who fits in anywhere, Clay is struggling to find his niche. Clay's lived most of his life as a black kid in a white family, and now that he's deep in the trenches of a multi-ethnic L.A. high school he's being forced to confront his own "blackness."

Ashley Davies
A peek at Ashley's house might lead one to guess she's probably some snotty, snobby rich girl. The truth is she's none of those things; in fact she refuses to be labeled at all. She once dated basketball star Aiden Dennison — but now Ashley's mostly into girls. Although the entire school is aware of the switch, Ashley couldn't care less what people have to say. She's an enigma to most of the kids at school, but that doesn't keep her from forming a deep bond with the newly-relocated Spencer.

Yay! The thread is back.

So, what is everyone's predictions for the second season of SoN? How far are they going to take Spashley? What is going to happen with Spencer's parents? Will Glen be able to co-exist in high school w/o being the big man on campus? ... And who will be thrown into the mix?

I don't want to know, either. The idea that really, the possibilities are endless to what they can accomplish with how they left S1 ... is exciting. Does anyone know the episode order for S2? I hope we get a little more then just 10 episodes ... because some of the season felt rushed because of that. Plus, I think SoN woul feel better as a one-hour show, then a half-hour.

got an email from Gabby today:

Season 2 is just around the corner! I am so excited to start working again (if you can even call it work!) We're already in pre-production and begin fittings and table reads on the 1st. Filming begins May 8th now, and we've heard of some great ideas as far as writing goes. So exciting!

word. I attended a SON Drinking Game last weekend in Burbank. Was awesome, watching all the eps (in marathon order) and we got so wasted! by the end of the first ep, i could already feel buzzed.... lol!

i don't have the exact paper of the things we drank to, but the girl who we had the SON Drink Fest at, she's in the process of sending it to me. its funny cause i mentioned this to Gabby and here's what she had to say about that:

Lol, that's hilarious. But, ya know, it's especially funny for me because my friends from home and college have been playing South drinking games ever since our premier last November! Lol.
