"It’s a new gangster chapter, and it’s a bit of a
shock to see a Brit series with strong undertones
of American classics such as Once Upon a Time in
America, Gangs of New York and Boardwalk Empire."

TFTNT!

I'm planning to re-watch, actually binge-watch, S4 on NFLX. They put it up right after S4 ended in the UK. I could have benefited from the subtitles too.

And one of my favourite musicians posted this, and me made me laugh. I honestly don't think our accent is that hard.

Some fans complained so he justified it

RP is fine, that's the one we foreigners are used to from watching BBC News. But Brummie? It is so hard to understand. The fact that they're not even doing a good job with the accent astounds me because I can't understand it.

As much as I'd like to binge on NFLX, getting new eps a week is good for discussion. So I prefer the BBC airing which means I have to suffer without the subtitles.

sourburst 02-09-2018 03:31 AM

Oh gosh  Here's us Brummie and Brits complaining it's not accurate and then there's the rest of the world like "what are they saying?"
