PBS's America at a Crossroads series

Is anyone here into watching documentaries? (Like, I really loved Planet Earth on Discovery, that kind of thing.) If so, FYI, that there's a huge one on PBS starting this Sunday night and running through next Friday.

It's called "America at a Crossroads" and it features all these different documentary films dealing with some aspect of life in a post-9/11 world - there are some about religion, some about the Iraq war, some about ideas like how to balance principles of liberty versus security and safety, all kinds of interesting things. I'm looking foward to seeing what all it entails.

Check out the promo that's on YouTube, see what you think? I think it looks so interesting!

This is the official site for the series, and it's got a schedule of airings of each documentary, and descriptions about what each one is about.

I watched the first night last night - the film was "JIHAD: The Men and Ideas Behind Al Qaeda" - and it was fascinating. I feel like I learned so much already - about the history of the group and the people in it (bin Laden included). I def enjoyed it.

Tonight's films are "Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience" and "Warriors," both of which are about perspectives of troops currently in Iraq. They both sound very good.
