But Angela could never really open up to her mother and she was so judgmental, so both women had their faults.

Well, I thought Danielle was a bit...lonely maybe? I would be alarmed if I heard an 11 year old wish she were dead though.
Eh, I thought she was being dramatic for attention. She felt terminally eclipsed by her sister. But yeah, where the heck are Danielle's friends? Maybe she was generally lonely too.

I just love their interaction. As much as Angela pushes him away, she can still talk to him and he can still talk to her.
Yup, that's what I loved about Angela and Brian. :)
Quote:

This has to be one of the best break up scenes ever. I also love when Angela says she never seriously thought about killing him.
Hee. She was great at running at the mouth, LOL.

Cool. I'll check out your channel, Rafa.

Another MSCL mini-mood day ...

1.14, "On the Wagon":

Patty: "You know, that girl never said 'thank you'."
Graham: "For the soda?"
Patty: "For saving her life."

Rayanne: "Angela, think about it. We'd have such a time. You hanging out with the band. Me being the band ..."

Patty:
"If Rayanne's not seeing you and we're not seeing you, who is seeing you?"
Graham: "And how much of you?"
Angela: "Dad!"
Graham: "Oh, I'm sorry. I asked a question about your life, didn't I? Whoa, what came over me?"

Jordan: (about the band's audition) "We'll do okay. Just wear something tight."
Rayanne: "That's your solution? Cut off my circulation? We need a real rehearsal!"

Amber: (about her daughter's audition) "Oh, honey. Is Angela excited?"
Rayanne: "Yeah."
Amber: "Me too. Even more than when I served that B.L.T. to Bobby Dylan."

Rickie: "What are you doing here?"
Brian: "What am I doing her? You, like, begged me to come."
Rickie: "Oh, right. Right. I had this fear that - that there'd be like no audience. So I just started asking anyone."
Brian: "Oh. Heh. Thank you. That really makes me feel wonderful."

Rickie: "I'm a little on edge. I gotta pray now."

Rayanne: "Thanks for the ride, Mrs. Chase."
Patty: "Rayanne?"
Rayanne: "Yo."
Patty: "Apparently, you and I are in the same 'karass' ... Call me Patty."
(They both smile)
Rayanne: "Patty, thanks. For, like ... my life."

SO funny when Rayanne offers her counselor a plethora of lollipops after they finish discussing oral fixations and her theory that her mom's breasts are too firm to have breast-fed her.

"Can I get you something to drink, like a soda?" ;) Ooooh, Patty does annoy me sometimes. And I can't believe Rayanne's own mother would drink cocktails so openly around her.

I thought the portrayal of unacknowledged distance between Angela and Rayanne was very realistic. Absolute kudos.

Wow is there some bad acting from the other Frozen Embryo bandmates. Gotta wonder if it was purposeful.

Heh. Loved Patty and Graham's late-night bonding over parent-to-parent ethics ... and Raynie's mom and Patty both "coincidentally"' getting a call on the other line once confrontation sets in. This must sound vague to those who haven't seen the episode recently.

HOW did I forget this? I was just gonna come in here and squee about the "Sesame Street" theme song singing, especially at the end :bunny: ... and then there goes Rayanne taking a swig from a beer bottle in the final frame. This is really a genius moment, and even moreso because if we were going to end things with the notion that she really WAS still sober, her singing the Sesame Street theme on the movie line would have been touching and appropriate as well.

I think when I first watched, I assumed she started up again right then and there. But now, as an adult, I can see that it was probably symptomatic of her having actually fallen off the wagon before ... and maybe the joke of her 'needing a shot of whiskey' at Angela's wasn't initially meant that way. Maybe she stopped herself mid-action and decided to pour it back and play it off as all a joke. Actually, it would be more interesting if it really was a joke but also a way for Rayanne to test herself, because she privately knew that she had started drinking again.

Poor Rickie. *sigh* Lol.

Because we can't get enough of Angela and Jordan. I just have to say for the record that Jared Leto is delicious.

Thanks for the caps, Dawn! Angela and Jordan =

I rewatched On The Wagon to respond to this. I always thought it was a good episode but it isn't one of my faves so I don't rewatch it too often but, woa, there is so much hidden brilliance.

I loved this scene. Rayanne almost dying scared Ricky and Angela so much that they pulled away. I love when Rayanne says she can't take the looks that they give her. It is such a brilliant scene between Angela and Rayanne. They so much without saying much at all. I don't think Rayanne and Angela were ever the same again, they dynamics of the friendship really changed.

And I've said this before, but Ricky storming down the hallway with Rayanne chasing him has to be in my top 3 MSCL moments. And when she tells him that hurt, and he says "not enough". I always felt so bad for Ricky in this episode. Rayanne was like a part of him, when she hurt he hurt. :( I love their friendship but

I love this. Especially before the popularity of cell phones, having multiple lines was the cool thing. I liked Patty and Graham's discussion. I agree with Graham you can't go up to someone and say that they are bad mother. Is their a worse insult?

The most interesting thing is, I can't really say if Patty or Amber is the better mother? Both have their faults, for instance Rayanne can talk to her mom, more openly and Amber has more of an idea what's going on in Rayanne's life, and Patti is so controling that she pushes Angela away, but on the other hand Angela is on a better path than Rayanne.

Oh this moment was brilliant. The writing was just superb. It was so heartbreaking yet it made sense.

lisztomania 09-29-2008 07:19 AM

Oh my. Those caps... Jared Leto looking at me with those pretty eyes almost killed me.

Ruby_Slippers 10-11-2008 10:26 AM

I know! He is so gorgeous.

Thanks for the caps! I want to make some more arts fro the OP!

playgroundDiaries 10-17-2008 11:29 PM

Well, what a coincidence, then. I found MSCL cap world the other day while looking for textures, and it's actually a site already affiliated with FF. Maybe this isn't new information.

. . d a y d r e a m i n g . . because UNreality is, like, my WHOLE life

Every time I take down a quote, I kinda imagine an art going with it. LOL

Will respond to #48 in my next post. Time for bed.

Ruby_Slippers 10-18-2008 07:12 AM

Yup, that's where I've gotten all my MSCL caps.

jesaispas 11-23-2008 11:37 AM

I swear I posted here a while ago, but can you add me? :)

Ruby_Slippers 11-23-2008 03:01 PM

I'm sorry, Thaly. I've added you!

So, I realize that flannel is making a comeback in general. But the other day I saw someone wearing that hideous over sized dress/coat/wrap-around that Angela used to wear. I guess the 90's are back.

jesaispas 11-23-2008 03:07 PM

No worries, thanks!

Oh yeah, I saw people wearing stuff like that too.

Ruby_Slippers 01-20-2009 02:10 PM

I know, plaid is so back!

speedmansgirl 01-22-2009 08:25 PM

Jordan and Angela both make plaid look so good. :D i'm so bummed the show wasn't longer. I wish we could have got to see more of them together as a couple

playgroundDiaries 01-24-2009 01:18 PM

What do you think would happen with A/Jordan and A/Brian down the line?

lisztomania 02-22-2009 11:34 AM

A/Brian will be remain good friends. A/Jordan will learn from each other and continue to be in love... they'd grow as individuals with each other's help.

Ruby_Slippers 03-03-2009 11:03 AM

Hmmm... you don't think Angela and Jordon may have broken up?

I got the feeling that everything changed when Brian revealed that he liked her.
