I've never really heard of the show but I love Jeremy Piven from Entourage. Could you tell me a bit about the show? From the promo it appears you are in season 3. I would of course want to start with the first season.

The show is loosely based on the life of Harry Gordon Selfridge and his department store, Selfridge & Co, in London, set in the 1910s. It's a period drama.

Personally I liked S1/S2 the most. S3 just started on PBS but has just finished on ITV in the UK. I have yet to see the S3 finale but I won't post anything spoilerish here for those who haven't seen the show.

Well, I do like period dramas. I kind of fell off of Mad Men. Maybe this weekend I will have a chance to watch this show. Still it is Easter weekend and I have kids/eggs so it might be hard. I will try though.

^ You're very welcome and I'm happy you have found your way here.

It seems that this show's ratings aren't as high as Downton Abbey's maybe

I've started to watch it. I'm a newbie

I'm biased but I like DA more than this one. Some of the stories are just as silly as DA though. The recent seasons have been better and I thought S1 was verrrry flamboyant and sometimes messy, everyone was screwing each other I think, but I still enjoyed it.

I'm a bit sad that S4 is the last but the ratings are dipping and at least we will have closure next season.

My favorite character is Lady Mae because I love bitches back in that era. I agree that Loxley has to go. UGH. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I was on the fence with Kitty & Mr. Edwards but I like them now. Not really a 'shipper' of Henri & Agnes, they're okay. I like Victor for some reason. Miss Mardle was someone I didn't like in S1 but she has evolved and she's one of my favorite characters now.

mrs. g, you are currently watching the new eps on PBS correct? Or are you all caught up now? Also, to echo what Vicki said, please don't double post/post in succession. If you have anything to add to your post, just click on Edit Message.

As season 3 began in the States last Sunday, we have some new characters. That fake Russian prince and his mother have to go though, lol.

Well, I found some time and just watched the pilot. I like Selfridge and the umm.. gloves girl from the beginning of the episode.

I've never found myself into a department store this much. Enough at least to check out the second episode when I can.

Did no one notice that the fire alarm only went off because he was smoking right? I mean didn't that prove it worked? I don't know that much about the systems in place back then but common sense right?
