It's fine to take the tags off now, the show has been streaming for a week.

I've finally finished watching and wow, amazing. Tench is probably my favorite this season. Imagine having to deal with his job & problems at home all at the same time. He even went to those company imposed parties & events. What an amazing employee. I just couldn't understand why Nancy was so cold to him. At one point she just wanted him to be there. I understand her frustration of course (and also why Tench didn't want the rest of the team to find out) but compromise is needed. Atlanta really took a toll on Tench's marriage cause he was away all the time and I know Nancy needed all that support so I guess her leaving him was inevitable.

It wasn't proven if Williams have help from others? At least he got caught but maybe the reason why it was so hard to pin it on him was because they failed to get evidence when they first arrested him?

My only rant is that Wendy became MIA when Ford & Tench had to go back to Atlanta full-time since the child murders were gaining national attention. I get the feeling that she wanted to be there and was always left alone even if Gunn was giving her praise as to why he needed her at home base.

about Tench, felt sorry for him and agreed about Nancy, maybe the parents coming around to see Nancy and Brian was the tipping point. Her and Brian leaving like that though...

Regarding Wendy, yes that was my only gripe during S2, nothing in the finale....

On the whole though, amazing season

I know that have reopened the case this year to try and get more evidence..

Nope, their only target and arrest was Williams but a lot of people (Including John Douglas who the characters and his work are based on) has come around and basically said there’s a good chance that there was more than one killer. His dad going to the airport to get a way to fly out of the country was sketchy and it’s weird they never investigated that more.

I know a lot of people complained about the side plots but I loved the Tench family drama and the nature vs nurture aspect they deal with when they’re interviewing killers, I could have done without Wendy’s gf drama though.

Another thing I didn’t like was that Holden was basically a side character this season and basically the fall guy for the others to take shots at and crap on him.

I think Wendy doing a real interview with a killer showed her though that her standard “procedures” and “methods” are not going to work on rapists and serial killers. As Holden said in the first season, “want truffles? You have to get in the dirt with the pigs” these are not your average human beings and straight laced methods aren’t going to work. If you want to learn from them you have to stoop to their level and appease whatever high they get off on.

As for last season as well I love that they’re continuing the BTK teases every few episodes. The first and last scene of this season..wow.

totally agree about BTK. I thought it was really well done how the incorporated BTK into the storyline this season, just hints hear and there, while concentrating on the main case..

Very sketchy about the plane...and I thought the Tench drama was really well done...I must admit I didn't really feel that Holden was a side character this season and love the way that he knew details of the Atlanta murderer and kept plugging away...

I hope we see Wendy do some more interviews next season...

I agree about BTK. I can't wait for that to unfold soon. He's creepy.

I also don't feel like Holden was a side character this season. And him being the fall guy with the others taking shots at him... that was also what happened to him in S1. He's always been like that.

I personally think Wendy did a good job with interviewing the killers. I also kinda like that she gave Gregg an opportunity, even though he was terrible at the questioning. Wendy's really smart and I wanted her in Atlanta so she was more involved but hopefully she'll be more involved once the BTK thing happens.

I wasn't familiar with the child murders but damn, I'm really sad that the entire investigation isn't really over and that they're re-opening the investigation again. It is odd they never investigated the father leaving because that's pretty shady stuff.

I too love the Tench family drama. We can definitely see how it affected Tench at work and I admire him for trying to keep his personal & professional life apart. I hate that Nancy just left (and with Brian too) without even telling Tench or trying to work it out. Surely Nancy saw how big the Atlanta child murders have been as it was on the news all the time and could be more understanding given her husband's line of work? Tench was there every week. He's actually quite lucky to be there every week given the nature of his job.

about the Tench drama. I did think when I was watching the scenes with himself and Brian/Nancy whether he was picking up clues about Brian considering what he does for a living.

I can't believe Nancy didn't tell him where they were going

I never heard about the Alanta killing either, those poor families , I read up on it after I watched S2 and I do hope, with the stuff they can do now, that they somehow get a result whatever it is..

Yeah the crapping on Holden stuff was a thing in S1 as well which makes it more annoying that they do it in S2 and really there isn’t any justifying them doing it. I mean we got to see Wendy have a GF and Bill has his own arc that took up time every episode but we saw Holden what, fold shirts and being lectured by parents in Atlanta that it can’t posdibly be anyone other than the KKK? Different opinions and all but all the action we got from Holden was the Atlanta stuff

Did anyone else notice that at one of the crime scenes Wayne Williams was there taking pictures of the crime scene? This was in episode 6 a few episodes before we even met him, it was crazy

i felt 'dissatisfied' with how the season was resolved

but it had me thinking, crime shows usually catch the bad guy, the bad guy confesses, society is safe from the bad guys being locked away.

we got none of that for the second season for the case, and it shook me

what more? Holden and Tench -our seemingly 'best' detectives, were in the center of the investigation, the protagonists, unable to bring closure.

And that too. She didn't even tell him where they went, she just left. What are they roommates?

I didn't see it that way. Holden was the reason the FBI even had this case in the first place. He was also the reason they caught Williams. To me, I like Holden more this season than the first because Debbie really dragged down the character for me in S1. And he also got Manson, his favorite. They also treated him smugly when he first presented the Atlanta child murders to the team but we all know he's always right. I like that about him, his instincts.

I didn't notice that since I was unfamiliar and only found out about it afterwards so I missed him in ep 6. It was a great Easter egg!

agreed, he kept on the case, even when the FBI wasn't there

I like that the ending pulled the rug from under us, shocking us right till the end..

i dont like how they pinned 29 deaths onto one person, a person who volunteered for the polygraph and went to police interrogation without a lawyer!

did the kkk do it (maybe some of them)? were the crimes related?

That was a botched investigation!

by detectives that saw things clearly too! ones that innovated criminology to criminal profiling on the basis of social psychology and social causes!

I felt 'unclean' for watching the second season

I hope they continue with this tone. I like that we don't see actual murders and just rely on the descriptions and stories that people tell. I also like seeing the team interview murderers because it really helps them with their cases (in particular these child murders in Atlanta). We actually see them apply what they learn from these interviews. It's really smart writing.
