| Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) - “Déj* Vu All Over Again” - Allison and her family deal with the outcome of her brain surgery and its possible lasting effects. Also, a local television station owner asks Devalos and Scanlon to look into the possible stalking of his sportscaster, who is also his wife, on the season premiere of MEDIUM, on the CBS Television Network. -------- (Sorry About the Double Post) Alrighty now, how'd everyone like the Season Premiere of Medium? It’s almost hard to believe that its back already [*Pokes Self*]. I have to say that, despite my worries (which manifested for whatever reason), this was a really great episode. I found myself trying to stifle my giggles at the seemingly unscheduled return the of Jake Weber's Moses Beard on Joe Dubois as he observed his comatose wife in the hospital (I've watched 30 Days of Night far too many times, I can spot a fake beard on an actor now). Weber sold the scene a bit too well, as it actually took a me moment to remember that the episode was dedicated to seeing how was Allison rehabilitating in the wake of recovering from her stroke, not see her die in the first 50 seconds of the episode. I was both surprised and somewhat relieved to discover that it was just a nightmare Joe was having, I half expected it to be Allison having the nightmare, as a result of some fear that she would be "killed" before she woke up. (Nevertheless, its time to dish out the "Hugs for Joe" card.) Patricia handled the semi-paralysis of Allison's body really well, I wanted so badly for her character to will that right hand out of the first it hand balled itself into. Ariel and Bridgette's bickering never fails to be entertaining, but I love how Bridgette is handling Ariel's ire towards her now (it only proves to make her angrier), its too clever! I also like that the implied issue of Joe finding yet another job and Allison neglecting her Rehabilitation exercises is a sore issue (or at the very least a source of major frustration) between Joe and Allison, but isn’t really delved too deeply into. Joe wants her so badly to focus on getting better, but Allison just wants to back to how her life was before the Oswaldo Castillo case reared its ugly head and right now. The fact that Allison wants to do that so Joe can continue working on his invention is incredibly endearing. I loved how carefully Joe handled Allison whenever she needed help, or even when she displayed the return of some her motor functions in the right side of her body. Another element I liked was the reemergence of Allison's gift in the form of some really bizarre Deja Vu; I was caught off guard several times when a scene re-looped itself to the exact moment it began, then truly saw the significance of the episode's title. The little reveal that Joe is still not 110% comfortable with his wife's gift and Allison's reaction to it was a bit surprising, but given what it almost cost the entire family, I can understand Joe's aversion towards it [still]. This is not to saay I didn't sympathize with Allison as well; just to see her get so excited about the return of her gift and have her sunshine blocked out by the cloud of disappointment from her husband isn't something I wanted to see, especially given how giddy she was about it. I kinda wish Ally had given him the "benefit of the doubt" though and just let the scene play out instead of keeping it to herself before the second/third bout of déj* vu. I might've been different, but that's hindsight talking. I'm glad they had Devalos incredibly understanding of Allison's situation, in terms of her gift, especially when it came to stomping on the fear that she would be kicked out of the D.A.'s office because she no longer had a gift. The mention of Lynn having her baby girl had me excited, I wonder if she'll show up at some point soon? The case involving the Sports Anchor and her supposed stalker was, for the most part, interesting. I liked for once that I didn't have the clearest idea as to what was going on between the husband's wife and her pudgy "lover". I almost believed that she truly had been raped by this man and like Allison, was quite ready to see him shot. But, when the entire tale behind the woman's situation was revealed, I literally cringed. That's one vindictive bitch if she's willing to stab herself, just to acquire a large pot money attached to TV Studios. I'm not exactly sure how Devalos and co. plan on pinning the entire murder/adultery plot on her specifically (besides the evidence that she frequented the man's motel, there weren't any specific points on whether or not she cleaned up after herself to make absolutely sure that it looked like her "stalker" murdered her husband, then raped and stabbed her). Joe's presentation at Marie's Kindergarten’s "Career Day" was funny, he ended up so stumped when the kid threw the "what if" scenario at him. His meek "But I will!" response so full of dread at the mere idea of it. Let's hope this headhunter guy has a lasting job position for Joe in the "Green" area of the workforce (Joe is literally becoming another "Michael"). Finally, the family element show remains as strong as ever. I love watching Joe joke around with Marie, Bridgette and Ariel "fight" with each other and Ariel unconsciously take on the responsibilities of her mother while she's recovering. The last scene of the episode made me beam so brightly, even though I half expected it to be another Deja Vu Moment. Next week's episode, however, looks so intense! It might've just been excellent advertisement, but if that isn't the case, the spoilers did not do this episode any justice. I got a total Supernatural vibe off that promo ("Born under a Bad Sign" vibe to be specific). | |||

| Fan Forum's Finest ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Okay, first of all, I'm so glad that this show is finally back on. And in September!!!! ![]() I quite enjoyed the episode. I really thought that the opening dream was Allison's and was convinced that the "pulling the plug" in the dream was what was going to wake her up And I'm really glad that she wasn't 100% better by the start of the episode 'cause it seems a bit more realistic this way. But I'm very happy that she's improving quickly (although her driving herself to work made me a little uncomfortable since it was probably more luck than skill that got her there safely)I'm glad that Lynn and baby girl Lee were mentioned and can't wait to (hopefully) see mother and daughter appear soon (I just love seeing babies on TV shows )Anywho, about the case. It was very interesting. I kinda had a flicker of a thought when the gal was in the hospital that she might've done it all herself, but I quickly pushed the idea from my mind since I didn't think that could have happened, and surprise, that was what happened ![]() Overall, a great episode and I'm glad it's back. But when the episode ended, I kinda wished we had seen a little more of the girls, but it looks like one of the girls will definitely be in a lot of the next episode ![]() And speaking of next week's episode, that promo was AMAZING. I've read some things about the episode, but I'm even more interested in the episode after seeing the promo. Great job CBS with putting together a great preview and keep up the great work for future promos ![]() __________________ | |||
