a new NBC series that premieres this Monday (January 3rd).

It's a chilling dramatic series centering on Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette), a young mother and law student who discovers that she can talk to the dead, see the future, and read people's thoughts- a gift that could help solve crimes.

It also stars Jake Weber and I'm looking foward to seeing him on this.

From Emmy Award-winning executive producer, creator and director Glenn Gordon Caron ("Moonlighting") comes "Medium," a chilling drama series inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois. Patricia Arquette ("Stigmata," "Flirting with Disaster") stars as a young wife and mother who, since childhood, has been struggling to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people.

Allison Dubois (Arquette) is a strong-willed young mother of three, a devoted wife and law student who begins to suspect that she can talk to dead people, see the future in her dreams and read people's thoughts. Fearing for her mental health, she turns for support to her husband Joe (Jake Weber, "U-571"), an aerospace engineer, who slowly comes to believe that what his wife is telling him just might be true. The real challenge is convincing her boss, D.A. Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) -- and the other doubters in the criminal justice system -- that her psychic abilities can give them the upper hand when it comes to solving violent and horrifying crimes whose mysteries often reside with those who live beyond the grave.

Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark also star as Ariel and Bridget, the Dubois children. David Cubitt ("10.5") also recurs as Detective Lee Scanlon.

Caron is creator and executive producer. Kelsey Grammer ("Girlfriends"), Steve Stark and Oscar winner Ronald L. Schwary ("Ordinary People") are executive producers. "Medium" is produced by Picturemaker Productions, Inc. in association with Grammnet Productions and Paramount Network Television.

I'm going to try and check this show out. I've seen some of the previews and it looks very interesting.

You said interview with the real Allison Dubois. Is this show based on true events?

It's based on the real Allison. I assume some of the stories on the show will be based on real cases she helped solve.

I watched the premiere last night. I liked the fact that Allison wasn't trying to push what she knew on someone else. She has this believe me or don't attitude. I also like that her gift is drawn from feelings and images rather then touching an object. We already have a Dead Zone on USA.

I also like that it isn't about dead people coming to her with a mission to make the wrong things right. No one is searching for her and she isn't out there searching to help the helpless. Things just happen to her random events by all accounts.

I will be watching this show it has potential at least from the first episode. I told my Grandma to watch this show as well. I'm not sure if she did but it's something that she also might enjoy.

One confusing thing... All new episode this Thursday 10pm on NBC. Then back to the regular time slot of Mon. 10pm. As long as the time isn't Thurs. at 8pm. I already have two shows in that slot. One of which I might be forced to stop watching this week because of that time slot. I hate to choose between two great shows

I saw some of it tonight. Creepy.

Reminds me of that movie The Gift.

I was hoping I'd be able to find a thread for this show. I am so totally hooked right now--I mean the first couple of minutes were somewhat of a bore but as it moved along I couldn't help but get into the entire storyline.

I can't wait to see next week's episode involving her on-screen daughter. She was so cute how she was like: "I'm fine..I'll just be staying in my room for the rest of my life." Smart girl...wish I would of had thought about that YEARS ago.

I'll definately be watching this show. It was really well done- and I agree with Michael about the direction they took with her character's behaviour towards others about what she can do. I really liked Patricia's performance- I thought it really held the show together.

The next episode is this Thursday (tomorrow) in ER's timeslot and then it's back again next Monday in it's regular timeslot.

Gotta run- the Alias premiere is about to start

I felt the same way too, with it going very slow at the beginning, I almost fell alsleep. I don't know, I didn't hate the show nor did I love it...but I think I'll give it another chance. Although it's up against WAT, and I def. like that better so I'll try to tape one or just the one during commericals, but NBC is known to shift time slots around and it just confuses the fans more, and winds up not having good ratings. Anyone word on the how the ratings went?

I don't know when the premier will come back on but theirs a new episode of it on tonight at 10. It takes over ER's slot.

How I missed the excitement of it's episodes.

The premiere of Medium got over 20 million viewers so that's a good sign.

I thought there was a new episode tonight. It is even listed as so in my tvguide. All I'm seeing is the first episode though.

Well, I guess someone screwed up because... the preview said it was a new episode, tv guide said it was a new episode but the Offical website said it was the Pilot tonight.

I just hope that the episode that was meant to air tonight is not forgotten and we see it this Monday instead. I would hate to jump an episode as I'm sure you guys would as well.
