Right? It was definitely a different format but really well done. It really dealt with the law vs morally sympathizing with the defendant.

Sad thing is, the law would have been on her side if the abuse had been physical. It just shows that the law needs to change.

I think the problem is you can't prove psychological abuse as easily. I'm surprised there wasn't tests done on her mental state. What we didn't see is really her defense should've had experts speaking about the affect of psychological abuse - including explaining a lack of remorse. It is tricky case as murder is still murder so everyone is going to question was there another way & is she innocent becausr it was self defense? The I think if there was a law saying you can kill someone providing its self defense you'd have a lot of people doing it

. With physical abuse it is easier to by sympathetic if you can see the evidence unfortunately

That, and as psychological abuse is more tightly linked with mental health, people like to pretend it doesn't exist.

The law actually does technically say you can kill someone if it's self defence. You just have to prove it after the fact during the trial.

There you go then, she just needed to prove that then which would be close to impossible being psychological abuse

I like that they left it open as to the verdict. I would like to think the abuse was acknowledged, even if it seems unlikely.

They like to pretend abuse doesn't happen, especially the perpetrators.

I agree that I liked they didn't tell us the verdict. That was my favorite part of the episode. It left it up to interoperation.

I don't watch the newer episodes, but I love the older ones episodes ones from seasons 2 to 6 to me those are the best seasons for this show.
