Human Trafficking #1

Human Trafficking is a television mini-series about an agent going undercover to stop an organization from trafficking human beings. It premiered in the United States on Lifetime Television on October 24, 2005 and later aired on CityTV in several major Canadian markets. It starred Mira Sorvino, Donald Sutherland and Robert Carlyle, with a supporting cast including Rémy Girard, Laurence Leboeuf, Isabelle Blais, Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse and Céline Bonnier.

This television mini series recently aired here in Australia, I found it really emotional but extremely well done. What did you think of it?

I started a thread for this when it first came out. I guess it was lost in the server crash...

I liked it but it was still Lifetime..so I didn't feel it showed a equal front about both male and female victims.

That's an interesting point, it definitely lacked in showing both the troubles both females AND males face with Human Trafficking. I think people assume the 800,000 people who are trafficked per year are mostly women, I don't think male's would even spring to mind. So it was unfortunate that they didn't show both sides.

True, when I think sex slave I think of a female. Mostly because I'm straight. I just find myself always angry over the fact of that when it comes to sexual crimes females are always the victims. Only on rare occassions do you hear of a sexual crimes committed against a male. I feel that both sexes are more equal when it comes to victims of crime.
