I want to see one character rise above you know, be better than what they think they can be.

I think Wes was that character but alas, he was killed.

I felt that with Wes too and earlier in the season, AK. I also feel like Pete doesn't want any of his characters to be happy or fulfilled. He likes creating drama by making them all flawed and while that might work since they are all 'friends' because of a shared crime, I feel like they also need to be happy after all of this. It wasn't like they wanted to do the murders anyway. They just wanted to get away with it because they also want happiness & peace & normalcy in their lives. And who doesn't want that?

I think that eventually they will get their HEA, when we get notice it's the last season or last batch of episodes!

I wished they hadn't killed Wes, because to me and the narrative he was the main guy out of the group, and he and Annalise were the two sides of a coin and their relationship was a focal point in the show

Yeah, to me Wes was one of the core characters whose life was intertwined with AK. It's super disheartening to know that after all that backstory, he just died + everyone put him under the bus. All of that character development has gone to waste.

Congrats to Viola & Cicely on their Emmy noms! Interesting to note that Viola is not nominated for Lead Actress for this show which can be telling of this show's future.

Definitely agree about Wes.

Usually i am ok with the show killing off other or minor characters who are dull or add nothing but i found that Wes was a character that was important and focal point of the show with Annalise

He's very important story-wise, since S1. I guess with Alfie's decision of leaving the show (he still lives in the UK so can't commit to an American TV show in the long run), they have no other choice but to kill the character. While I'm okay with that, the reason for his death and how they went about it was not okay and poorly written.
