HEX Sky1 17/10

(If there already is a topic on this please delete this, i had a look and couldn't see one..)

Did anyone watch it?? I just finished watching the pilot and found it really intriguing. Definately be watching next week!
I'm glad the UK writers haven't made it all subtexty! I mean if you did have that kind of power you would use it vengefully! and it WOULD go to your head at first.

I thought the cast was good...
Christina Cole I wasn't sure about at first, but I thought she played it well. Although maybe a little more uncertainity could of been registered.
Jemima Rooper was good as well - although I could see alot of Nicki (Her AS If character) in how she played Thelma.
Amber Sainsbury I thought done well, the way she played Roxanne lead me to believe that there was alot more depth to that character than was played out.
Jury's still out on the others, not enough screen time to give me any decent impression. Although I must say Joesph Morgan (Troy) has a YUMMY body hehe!

I thought the screenplay was very well writted to congrats to Julian Jones!!! didn't realise he was a writer on As If too till I looked him up!! I liked Brian Grant's directing style too! (Also worked on As If lol its nearly a reunion on this show!)

Anyway - what did anyone else think? Tuning in next week??

Coming out of long time lurking to say that, yes, I watched Hex last night!
I really enjoyed it and will definitely be tuning in next week to see how it progresses.

I have to say I’m not a huge fan of Cassie, although that’ll probably change after a few episodes. Loved Thelma though, I really felt for her when she was talking about her feelings for Cassie. Also I found the headmaster to be a little bit creepy, maybe it was meant to come off as sort of fatherly or something but I was getting something else.

I totally fancy Azazeal, although obviously not when he’s all monstery.

The ending shocked me, I really thought the bit with the sacrifice had all been a dream, however Thelma coming back was v.cool and I wasn’t to see what they do with that.

Oh my god!! me too! My friend I was discusing it with didn't get see it, but I found his interest in her a bit creepy! like when the teacher was giving him updates on year 13 and he was all (paraphrasing here) "Oooh no problems with Cassie, Cassie's great, Cassie's wonderful"

I'm so glad it wasn't just me!

I think I'm going to have to watch it again on Sky 1 mix tomorrow I have a feeling I missed something Did they explain what was going on at the start?

I wonder if the premiere attracted a lot of viewers? I saw loads of adverts for it.

Hi! I watched the show on Sunday, and I  it! I saw a load of adverts for it, and lil' snip-bits in magazines and stuff, so I decided to watch it on the preface that it was the 'British Buffy' which, now, I totally disagree with, sure it's like a sci-fi show with supernatural undertones and teens but Buffy? No way- it freaked me out more than Buffy ever did.....

Christina Cole was good- I recognised her from What A Girl Want, and she's a pretty good actress. Not very well known though...I think I'll know my opinion on her more after next episode- which I have to watch!!!
Jemima Rooper was great as ever- I also saw undertones of Nicki from 'As If' there. A ghost- now there's something a bit different...

Not sure about everyone else though.... The woman who played the teacher..(don't have a clue what her name is) she's been in quite a lot of things I think....
The headmaster creeped me out too. It was a 'lil bit freaky....

I was thinking the exact same thing!

I just caught most of it on SkyMix tonight, missed the start though, but I'm liking it so far. I can see on the face of it, it *looks* like Buffy, but I think its gonna turn out more complicated

I love seeing the 'As If' crew out and about, though Thelma didn't really win me over until the very last line about her and the vicar - cracked me up no end. Still not sure if she's dead or not.

Not sure about the about the other characters, but I'm definitely tuning in And yeah creepy headmaster guy...

I can't wait till Sunday till it's on again. I agree with what lilmnx04 said about this show being darker than Buffy - that's one thing i do like about British writers/directors they aren't afraid to play with the darker more real tendancies. Like the inital power rush and the use for selfish m eans, OF COURSE it would happen!
Sad there's only 5 episodes but hey if it goes down well might commision an entire series! They should of made them year 12's instead of year 13 then they had another year at the school option lol. Oh well i'm sure the writers can come up with something!! Thelma's a ghost now so relocation is no big problem for her! hehe

I was thinking the same thing!

According to Digital Spy Hex attracted around 868,000 viewers, I think that's considered really good for Sky One. I hope they get the sort of figures on Sunday.

I only just realised that the Vicar's from Footballers Wives, I wonder if she'll be in any more episodes?

Dawnie_AngelUK thanks for that link

What did you guys think of last nights episode?

- Personally I thought the Cassie/Thelma bed scene was well done, does anyone know the song that was used, cos I loved it

- Loved Thelma all the way through, she's such a dream whore lol.

- Troy is such a sweetie, and I can see a kinda triangle forming with him, Cassie and Azazeal. However now I really want to know more about Azazeal, was he in love with Rachel?

- The dead girl thing freaked me out a little, wasn't expecting that.

- Whatever the woman teacher's name is, she's getting very annoying. And am I the only one who was wtf'ing when she was on about Cassie, the headmaster, and their 'special bond'? What 'special bond'? Ah you mean the creepiness...

- The drawings are an interesting twist, also got a kinda link with Cassie's mother - The girl was locked in the room, and went mad I assume, Cassie's mother is in 'treatment' for mental illness, and Cassie is drawing the same stuff as the dead girl, if seeing the ghost of Thelma isn't enough... Actually I'm surprised Cassie isn't more freaked out about it.

- If James McBaine is Cassie's father, I'm wondering how the family history affects him

/end ramblings

I thought that Sundays episode was good. I kinda suspected there'd be a family thing going on. and Yay i was right lol The Cassie/Headmaster thing is still creeping me out a bit! Thelma as a ghost is just so funny lol I loved how she went into that girls dream - could be an interesting little tactic in the future!

I like the way you see two sides to Thelma, the brazen hussy side (lol i cant believe I just used that phrase) and then the side that obviously cares so much about Cassie.

I think Troy is quite a sweetie! Shame about his mates lol but sure that's a given with teenage guys!

Okay I'm running outta things to say so i'm goin to go lol Sorry "Something Blue" I don't know the song - or at least I don't remember it!!

Me too, I kept on thinking that his plot was going to go somewhere but it never did.

I love how Thelma was eating for the entire episode although does she not get a change of clothes in the spirit realm
