I agree, I need season 3 to be a bit different and hopefully more uplifting. I dont thinK i can take the same old doom and gloom in season 3 if its so similar to what we got in 1 and 2.

There was an board when the show first came out last year, but that got closed last year as well.

^ Sam is right. If you go to our Archived Forums, Chris, there's a THT board there. There wasn't enough traffic on the board to keep it afloat sadly.

This was Joseph's reasoning as to why he didn't want to do it:

And I think that he would be reeling from the interaction with Luke, and that suddenly the reality comes face to face with him and he would be digesting that and trying to understand it, and he wouldn’t necessarily be switched on by being in Canada in a new hotel and trying to heavily persuade his wife to do something that she wouldn’t want to do.”

Fiennes successfully made his case with “long emails and defending and pushing, and feeling that Yvonne had tracked Serena so beautifully that her disenfranchisement with the regime and Fred was so beautifully charted it didn’t need a heavy scene to kind of suddenly push her over the edge.”

And yeah rape scenes are hard enough to watch and we don't want more. Jesus.

I do agree with him there because I dont think it makes sense of the narrative either, because he hasn't seem interested in Serena in a sexual way whatsoever. And even though rape is about power, I just dont see him taking that out on Serena? Its not her fault that he saw Luke there. And Fred also uses his religious beliefs and the gilead system as his excuse for the ceremonies. So even though its definitely rape to us, he in his twisted head, doesn't really see it that way. So the June rape made sense for the show, but him raping Serena would feel out of place to me.
