So this is my favourite book ever. And I was unsure how much I'd like this. I was originally only giving it a chance for Yvonne Strahovski. But im glad I was wrong. I really enjoyed the first episode

brilliant :yay: !!!

I really need to find the book!

Margaret Atwood has so many amazing books. But this is one of the best, probably top five dystopian novels

Will definitely look for it :thud:

I'll try to watch ep3 tomorrow :yay:

That gif! That was a great way to have Margaret Atwood do a cameo.

I've seen the first 2 episodes myself and wow, I had high expectations and so far the show has met them and then some. The acting and the directing are both fantastic. The third ep doesn't air here until next week but I don't know if I want to wait for more.

I read it a long time ago but I remember the novel being stellar. I should do a reread too.

I’m also always a bit wary when it comes to book adaptations because there is a chance it won’t do the source material justice. Additionally, other than the themes, what makes a book great is the language, the author’s masterful use of words (and Atwood is brilliant with words imo) and it's not easy to effectively transform that into images.

About to watch the first ep and hope to catch up with the rest soon, when I have free time. Don’t want to binge this or watch it when I’m half-asleep, lol.

Still in shock with episode 3 :thud: It made me cry :bawl:
And that ending!

Seconding the thanks for all the links.

I said I was wasn't going to binge but I did. Impressive so far. Love how Samira portrays Moira. She captures the rebelliousness and energy her character is supposed to have at the beginning so well. Elisabeth and Alexis did a great job too. The former is making me wanna rewatch Top of The Lake, I remember beginning very impressed with the writing and acting in that one too.
