~The Brady Bunch~

In light of the Brady weekend on TV Land channel here, I did a search and couldn't find a Brady Bunch appreciation thread. Right now that episode that they are on is the "Perfect Dream" or something like that. Marcia's diary is missing and they are trying to find it. Cindy gave it away to the man who came to take all of the used books. My fav. Brady was Greg or Mike. Some of my fav. episodes are the travel eps. Where the family goes to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, a Ghost Town. Those epsiodes are pure classics.

I missed the special they had on the Brady's on TV land. I think I was watching my shows when it was on. Hopefully they will air it again. I really wanted to hear about the info that they had behind the scenes of the show. I really liked the E: True Hollywood Story about them. I love to find out behind the scenes info on classic shows. I also liked the movies that they made about the Brady Bunch. They were very funny. I think I found the Very Brady Sequel funnier. The idea that Carol was once married to the Professor and that Mike was married to Jennie was hilarious.

I love The Brady Bunch. That theme song just plays over and over again in my head. I wish TV Land played the show at hours of the day when I'm actually awake.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

I don't know when they do air the episodes on Tv Land. I just happen to come across it on Tv Land every now and then.

Brady Bunch, The - It's a story of DVDs named Brady: March release marks 1st of 4 sets in 2005!
Posted by David Lambert
11/12/2004

The folks at The Digital Bits website posted yesterday to their Rumor Mill section a long list of Paramount titles that they said would arrive in the first half of 2005. They state that they "(got the)...information from both industry and retail sources. I want to emphasize that this is very tentative and is absolutely subject to change. Also none of the dates you're about to see are officially announced."

One of the titles they listed was The Brady Bunch - The Complete 1st Season, which their info showed would be out on March 1st, 2005. We told you that The Bradys would hit DVD in 2005, and in force, too! If Paramount's plans hold, then look for a Season 2 release in early June, and Season 3 set in late August, and a Season 4 release in mid-to-late November.

We'll re-emphasize that the specific March date is a rumor, not from the studio, and could be subject to change. But we DO know from the studio that this title is definitely coming, and info of this sort at The Digital Bits' Rumor Mill, in our experience, turns out to be correct most of the time. Kudos to them for digging it up. Stay tuned for the official announcement, just as soon as Paramount makes it!

Brady Bunch, The - A Bunch of Groovy Extras on Season 1!
Posted by David Lambert
12/06/2004

A few weeks ago we told you that The Brady Bunch - The Complete 1st Season would arrive in stores on March 1, 2005, with follow-up seasons planned in early June, laste August, and November (approximately every three months).

Paramount is distributing these DVDs, confirmed the March date to TVShowsOnDVD's regular correspondent, Pavan Badal. Pavan also obtained from the studio a list of the bonus material that has been put together to accompany the 25 episodes from the 1st Season:

Commentary on the pilot episode "The Honeymoon" by Creator/Exec Producer SHERWOOD SCHWARTZ (Disc 1)
Commentary on Episode 12 "A Camping We Will Go" by BARRY WILLIAMS ("Greg"), CHRISTOPHER KNIGHT ("Peter") and SUSAN OLSEN ("Cindy") (Disc 2)
Commentary on Episode 23 "The Hero" by BARRY WILLIAMS, CHRISTOPHER KNIGHT and SUSAN OLSEN (Disc 4)
"The Brady Bunch: Coming Together Under One Roof " (15 min. 38 sec.)

So 3 commentary tracks and a featurette are the extras on this release. There are also a couple of things to note historically about the first season, to reduce confusion later on: 1) The theme song during the first season was not sung by the actors portraying the Brady Kids; it was instead sung by an act called The Peppermint Trolley Club. We hope that this original version of the theme song is intact on the Season 1 release. 2) The production order and the airdate order of the episodes in the first season were wildly different. The episode numbers mentioned above in Paramount's list reflect the production numbers of the episode titles they go with. The production numbers of the original season, when placed in airdate order, look like this: "0, 1, 5, 6, 4, 2, 3, 12, 9, 14..." From the above, it is probably a safe assumption that the box set will have the episodes in production order.

Either way, it's okay, because we're still getting some classic episodes in this bunch: Tiger chases the never-again-seen cat Fluffy across the tables with the punch bowl and the wedding cake, the kids think their parents are unhappy with each other after spying a letter to a newspaper advice column, the girls protest a boys-only clubhouse so Mike builds them one of their own (but better), Bobby goes on trial for the disappearance of Cindy's Kitty Karry-All doll, Mike installs a pay phone, Greg and Marcia compete for class president, Cindy asks Santa to restore Carol's lost singing voice, the boys and girls compete for trading stamp prizes by building a house of cards, Marcia gets braces, Peter saves a little girl from being hit by falling shelves at a store, Marcia's diary goes missing, the house becomes "haunted" just as soon as Mike puts it up for sale, and Jan receives a mysterious locket.

We're still waiting on cover art for this long-anticipated release, so stay tuned and we'll bring it to you just as soon as we can! Our thanks to Pavan Badal for his usual good job and valued help!

Ooo, I loved The Brady Bunch! I loved Marcia the best.

Hee at Jan, "Marcia, Marica, Marcia!!"

One of my fave episodes was when Marica got his by the football. "Ow, my nose!"

I've got Growing Up Brady on tape. THAT movie is hilarious. It's not supposed to be hilarious, and I probably wouldn't of thought that if I had seen when I was younger. The cheesiness was awesome. Adam Brody and Kaley Cuoco (from 8 Simple Rules) starred in it. Both were awesome.
