Actually, it seems like Meredith saved the day two weeks in a row, but in reality, it was Preston and Derek who did the life saving. Meredith just remembered that Katie Bryce tripped during a gymnastics routine and saw a baby turn blue. For an intern, though... convincing attendings to act on your hunches is a major victory. And the show is doing a job of getting that across, no?

I want to say other medical shows in the past have glossed over the small victories, the ones that really count for a young doctor. GA really wants just being in the OR, even if you're just observing or holding a clamp, to be a big deal (because I imagine it really is).
