I'm disappointed the prequel with Naomi Watts was cancelled. I really wanted to see the original Long Night, with the entirety of Westeros freezing to death. We barely got to see the heavy winter/second long night on Game of Thrones. At least not the way Old Nan described to Bran. I also really wanted to see the foundation of House Lannister, considering the prequel was going to have the Casterlys.
Oh well... moving on...



I thought the Season 8 Blu-ray was going to be released only in December, but apparently it was released earlier or something happened and the content was leaked... because deleted scenes, audio commentaries and more extra stuff are out there for everyone to watch/listen.

The 8x06 audio commentary is with Emilia Clarke, David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
The entire thing is out there. I'm not gonna post the link here because it's probably illegal... I dunno... don't want to get in trouble.

Emilia asks the right questions. Like what do they think Arya is gonna do. And they didn't answer. They just said that now she is Arya the Explorer.

The most relevant part was when Emilia asked David and Dan how long did they take to figure out the ending... (thanks very much Emilia for asking them, by the way )
And David/Dan said that they were planning since way back. They started to talk about the Jon/Dany fall out when they were prepping season three. Emilia had no idea about it. She said she prefers to not know what's going to happen beforehand because it would affect her acting.

This is just my opinion, not part of the audio commentary...
Considering David and Dan started to talk about the Jon/Dany fall out before season 3 started, I think they knew that Jon would kill Dany since pre-production of season 3. Since 2012. I think Jon killing Dany was always what they planned to do.
So they didn't change the Cersei/Jaime storyline and gave it to Dany/Jon, like many people were speculating. Jon was always supposed to kill Dany.
I think that's one of the things George told them because it's very major and it's going to happen in the books too.



Deleted scenes from season 8:



I wish they had kept Sansa and Tyrion saving Missandei and Gilly. It was weird to never see them using their dragonglass weapons.
They should have kept the Alys Kastark scene too. It is scary.

I definitely think Jon and Dany will meet the same fate in the books, the execution in the show is what was bad IMO. I feel for Emilia having to sit through what they did to her character again but good on her for trying to get some real answers out of D&D... of course I don't expect them to take responsibility for ruining the show (not that they ever would on a commentary). While I believe Jaime and Cersei will still die, I won't believe the books will throw away Jaime's character development like the show did until I read that for myself.
