About The Show

Michael Westen was a spy working for the US government until he received a ‘burn notice’ and was blacklisted from the spy community. He was dumped and stranded in Miami with no money, no job history, and no identity. Now it his mission to figure out who burned him and why, in an attempt to get his life back. In the meantime, Michael uses his skills he honed as a spy to help those with nowhere else to turn. The only ones on his side are a trigger-happy ex-girlfriend, an ex FBI agent who once informed on him to his former employers, and his mother.

Michael Westen: A former Government operative who was ‘burned’ while on assignment in Nigeria. Stranded in his hometown of Miami, he uses his skills to help those with no other options. All the while he remains on the quest to discover who burned him and to get his identity back. (Played by Jeffrey Donovan)

Madeline Westen: Michael’s hypochondriac mother, who constantly complains about the lack of involvement Michael has had in her life since his return to Miami. But she is far smarter than most give her credit for. (Played by Sharon Gless)

Nate Westen: Michael’s younger way-ward brother who is known for always having a scheme up his sleeve. Has a strained relationship with Michael, who finds it hard to trust his younger brother to do the right thing. (Played by Seth Peterson)

Sam Axe: Former FBI agent who washed out and settled in Miami for the booze and the rich women. Was forced to feed information to the FBI on Mike after he was burned, but is now solely there to help Mike out in his missions to help people.(Played by Bruce Campbell)

Fiona Glenanne: Ex-IRA gunrunner who stills works from time to time in the arms dealing trade. She is also Mike’s on again, off again girlfriend. She is always good for tactical support in Michael’s missions to help people. (Played by Gabrielle Anwar)

We beat The Closer!

I agree that the show deserves every single bit of recognition it gets. Wow, I still can't believe we beat The Closer. That's been bragging about being cable's highest-rated drama for a long time, and we managed to be steadily beating it all quarter long.

It is pretty amazing. Also considering how pretty much all networks that night had new episodes too of their respective shows that is even more impressive!

I think it shows that cable is something to be reckoned with. I think better quality shows are coming out on cable and Burn Notice is leading the pack!

I think that the casting change will be good too. So not sure if you all heard but the very talented Tim Matheson was cast in a CW pilot, Body Politic. If it is picked up, I still hope he will have some time to direct an episode of BN. I've really loved his episodes that he has done and he was fabulous as Larry too.

I'm happy for him. But I would still like to see him come back at some point either as Larry or to direct. I don't think his role as Larry is finished where Michael is concerned. I really think there is more to be explored and I hope we get the opportunity to see it.

Oh ITA. Larry's exit was very open ended and I really hope Tim comes back -- especially in front of the camera because Larry was such a crazy and great anatogist for Michael.
