Yeah it sucks that it is ending but at the same time I'm glad its ending while it is at it's best.

Me, too. Some shows go one too long and they scrape the bottom of the barrel for new plots. I would rather have excellent storytelling

But Dexter struggled much earlier than its later years. It's first season was terrific. Its second season wasn't as good. Third season was bad. Fourth was pretty good. So it kind of bounced around.

Black Sails had a first season which wasn't that great but had amazing 2nd and 3rd seasons. We'll see what happens in the 4th but I suspect it had a fifth season in it.

I thought that second season was as good as the first, but other than that I agree with you.

I thought the first five of Dexter were all good, the fourth being the best (and I thought Season 2 was much better than Season 1)

But Black Sails has consistently been good and I am very glad to see they are planning to end strong and on their terms. Can't wait till Jan 29!

Season 7 was pretty good and it was the best of post S4 seasons IMO.
