I just watched the pilot and I love it already! I have some other shows pilots I wanna try but I will probably be adding this to my list very soon. I really loved the first episode, loved the mystery and all the characters it was so good.

Did the little boy really strange the girl or not? And what is Shailene's characters' history? There's def. some weird about her.

Personally I love Reese's character, I found her super hilarious and other than her obvious hate for her ex husbands new wife, she seemed fairly normal to me.

I was loving Alexander Skarsgards character until the end there. I was not expecting to see that side from him.

Cant wait to watch more episodes!

Definitely catch more episodes, the mystery is only becoming bigger and to some of your questions we still don't have an answer! I hope we get it in the next series finale!

Ugh Perry is such a jerk! I hate him so much. WTF does Celeste stay with him? That sex was just gross.

Madeline truly is obsessed over her ex boyfriend and I don't blame her new husband for being upset about it! She's definitely a bit crazy but I just love her, she's hilarious.

Okay, that has to be a future title, thats amazing!

The scene with Ed and Nate was so awkward to watch! But I was totally team Ed, Nate was coming off so aggressive.

Obviously Ziggy did something at his old school right? And it's why they moved there? Idk, but there's something really weird about Jane.

Stay to the Lights

I'm looking forward to the finale, though I know since I have read the book (one of my favs by the author) the conclusion! There are some changes, but it's pretty loyal.

Finally all caught up. The acting, the directing, the writing, the music. Everything about it is so good. I'm sad that it's almost done.

Episode 3 felt sort of fillery to me in parts but it was funny seeing Renata and Madeline go at it. Renata is truly a nutcase. All the stuff with Jane was great though and I love that pieces of the story are being revealed slowly.

Obviously Perry seems like the obvious suspect for the murderer but I don’t think it would be that obvious right? And I’m sick of his and Nicole’s sex scenes.. Counseling is great but it doesn’t feel genuine and it’s definitely strange that Celeste is almost sort of taking the blame for the “fighting” and then lying about it being physical. At least Perry came clean about grabbing her but idk what can be done in that situation? Can someone like that ever really change?

Ziggy definitely has some anger issues, so I do wonder if he actually did strangle the little girl, but now I am wondering how much Jane knows about it and who the father is. So she was raped? What an awful past! And it sort of explains why she is such a young mother. And possibly why Ziggy has developed some of his father’s issues. Maybe Jane ends up killing the rapist at the end?

And what was with the flashes of the beach? She saw his shoes out there? I’m a little confused but I think it’ll come together.

I found it sweet that Madeline cried in her car after she heard the story and I like that she’s being a good friend to her.

The scene with Renata and her husband made me think though, they had pretty aggressive sex in the office. Maybe he is the one abusing his daughter and she just blamed it on Ziggy? Or IDK, maybe thats a big stretch. It just seemed that her mom is nothing her child acting differently and the husband is brushing it off. I desperately want to know the mystery but I dont want to spoil myself.

From what I understand and from some articles written, this counseling is pretty accurate, especially for a TV show.

The dynamics of these scenes are how counseling an abusive pairing usually goes. Celeste telling the counselor about the abuse could get her in trouble so she isn't forthcoming. Perry IS forthcoming....but only to a certain point. By admitting it turned physical, he gets to decide how much he abuses her and the degree to which it's dangerous. And he tries to manipulate the session by talking about his insecurity that Celeste will leave him. Celeste feels the need to make him feel better. Lesser therapists can get sucked in which is why couples therapy isn't recommended for couples in abusive relationships.

Celeste stays because she's been conditioned to care for Perry and he gaslights her into believing she's partially responsible for the abuse--that she secretly likes it.

The therapy scenes and abuse storyline are the most compelling, IMO.

I got into the series at a great time, I'l probably finish the episodes tomorrow and then watch the finale. I didnt have to wait long between episodes which is great.
