"After a naïve Midwestern girl's big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare in this hilarious, contemporary comedy about a female odd couple who are surrounded by an outrageous cast of characters.

June (Dreama Walker) moves to Manhattan for a dream job and the perfect company apartment, only to have them disappear in a puff of reality, thanks to a CEO from the Bernie Madoff school of embezzlement. Deep in debt and out on the streets, June scrambles to land a job and place to live. It seems her luck has turned around when she gets hired at a coffee shop and finds Chloe (Krysten Ritter), a charming, vivacious roommate... with the morals of a pirate. She swindles June out of all her savings, but she and her snarky friend, James Van Der Beek (playing himself), soon learn that, just because June's naïve, she isn't stupid. June ingeniously turns the tables on Chloe, who is so shocked about being scammed herself that she decides to pull June into her colorful band of friends. Sure, it's all dysfunctional, bizarre and overwhelming, but so is New York City. And with the help of Chloe and the other oddballs around her, June might just learn the survival secrets she needs to make it there." -ABC

I like this show and the cast of characters. Chloe and June will be cool frenemies. James Van Der Beek as himself.

I ship James Van Der Beek and the brunette girl Chloe together. They look cute and natural with each other. And no fanbase opposition war ( which is sure to come) won't change my mind!!

i feel like JVB is in everything, and most of the time hes playing himself. or at least, referring to dawson.

I liked the episode, didnt love it, but it def. picked up near the end. I love krysten, i think shes hilarious and the main girl was pretty cute too. i dont know if i ship anyone yet, i could see "james" with either of them i suppose. we'll see how it goes.

yeah same. although i thought it was pretty strong for a pilot.

i love chloes character. and james too actually.

I like June, but I feel more of a vibe between James and Chloe who look more in sync together and they understand each other. Just because James is sort of a naughty guy does not mean June is perfect for him. And those kind of pairings are not always the greatest to ever come. Some happen to be forced.

I loved the pilot, James Van Der Beek as a messed up version of himself is reason to watch alone. When he had a "fan" over and they started playing the theme tune to Dawsons Creek

. I've liked Krysten in everything I've seen her and she is really great in this role, cannot imagine anyone else playing Chloe.
