Television - American Gothic

I didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I'd start one. Does anyone remember this show?

Here's a summary:

American Gothic is a horror/drama/thriller series set in the heart of South Carolina in a small town called Trinity. In this town not everyone is as they seem and everyone seems to follow their leader, Sheriff Lucas Buck. Lucas's son, Caleb Temple, was brought up by another family and was lead to believe that a man called Gage was his father. The local doctor, Matt Crower, gets curious when suddenly the Sheriff wants everything to do with Caleb. Then Caleb's cousin, Gail Emory, comes to town to protect Caleb in every way she can, but that is extremely difficult when she fall in love with Lucas. Then Caleb's school teacher, Miss Selena Coombs, becomes jealous. But also on Caleb's side is his dead sister, Merlyn. She is an angel prepared to do ANYTHING to keep Lucas away...

A friend recently introduced me to this show and I was hooked after seeing the first episode! I was disappointed to hear about its early cancellation by CBS (only one season), but it seemed to be an amazing show with so much more potential than it was ever given the chance to have. The deliciously dark overtone made this show unique and wonderful in the SciFi/Horror/Drama genre of television today. All of the actors gave excellent performances, especially Gary Cole (Lucas Buck) whose performances were as frightening and riveting as they were humorous. All in all, I LOVE this show and I definitely think that Gail and Lucas should've ended up together.

I hope I'm not the only AG fan on this board!

I love this show. I watched it when it orignally aired and was severaly disappointed when it got cancelled.

Ofcourse you watched it Mel!!

I loved that show so much, it was so creepy and just different.
Its weird to see Lucas Black all grown up now.

That show should seriously come out on DVD.

Loved the show and how Lucus seemed to control the town. Everyone was afraid of him. Loved his scenes with Gail and when they made out the first time. Would have loved to have seen more of them together. Especially since she was pregnant with his child in the finale.

A really awesome show. I bought the DVDs as soon as they came out, but I haven't had a chance to watch them yet.

I wish it had gotten more time... but hey, a full season looks good compared to some shows.

Yeah, I would've loved to have seen that too! They had this amazing indescribable chemistry with one another and I really do think they were meant for each other. When it really came down to it, I think Lucas really did love her and wanted to protect her. It would've been interesting to see what would've happened if Gail got pregnant again and actually gave birth... would this child be considered a "freak" or not? Oh, too many questions with no answers!

I'm watching re-runs on the Chiller network. I love this show.

A repeat of the series finale airs tonight at 7:00 p.m. eastern on the Chiller network . It's channel 257 on DirectTV.
