Nope, they're in present day already and Deke is still around. If Fitz is truly dead, then Deke should cease to exist. I think they've already caught up to present day as per the last few eps of the latest season.

That's why they need to explain why Deke is still around if Fitz is dead. Technically Deke should cease to exist if Fitz is dead. I don't want to delve into theories right now because that may go into spoilers so I'll just leave it at that.
