Many of you may have taken part a while back in the exciting Fan Forum Movie Awards and wondered to yourself why there hasn't been a similar awards program for all those television junkies out there. Well your question has been answered, and the time is now! The regular television season has ended, and the majority of shows have finished up their seasons for the summer, leaving us in limbo for months. Or maybe you’re giving some of Fox's half hearted attempt at a full summer lineup a shot, but it’s not the same as watching your regular shows. So ease the pain of withdrawals of your shows with others who are feeling the same way. Put all those hours of television watching you did over the past few months to good use and help us out with nominating your favorites for the following categories:

Feel free to vote for as many categories as you want but make sure you do the following for your votes to be counted. We could end up with far less categories depending on the input for each one. Here's hoping we can include them all.

2. You must have more than 100 posts here at Fan Forum to be eligible to vote.
3. We’re looking for diversity here, so please try to nominate at least 3 or 4 shows on your ballot. This shouldn't be too hard for most of us television nuts here!
4. The show must have aired during the last television season, September through June. And for those wondering (and I’m with you here) The O.C. does count since the majority of its episodes were aired during the regular season.
5. Nominations will end on July 11th, and then the nominees will be announced on the thread for open voting.

This is a cool idea I'm deciding on my nominations as we speak!

I had one comment and one question, though, so here goes

The comment - I take it we're just talking about US television here? Since it was mentioned that they had air during the last season, obviously English (for example) shows aren't going to work to that schedule, etc.

And the question - is it up to us to decide how we classify shows - is that something that'll be sorted out when the nominations list is being put together? I mean, the OC is more of a drama than a comedy, but it has elements of both ... and where would shows such as Wonderfalls go? Comedy or drama?

I dont think I would nominate it but I have been extremely disappointed in the last 1 and a half seasons of Alias. Ever since the Superbowl episode I think it has gone downhill drastically. I still think it has a chance to rebound though.

We are gonna go by the US schedule since the majority of the posters here are on that schedule. If you are outside the US and are getting the shows later that we are just ask me if it qualifies.

I am considering these borderline shows part of these categories(and also those you asked about)

The O.C. - Drama
Gilmore Girls - Drama
Wonderfalls - Drama

I never liked calling GG or Wonderfalls a comedy or dramedy. When in doubt usually go by the half hour format being comedy and hour long format being drama, unless it is a reality show.

I have to ask if Dead Like Me, one of those most brilliant new-ish shows around can count even though it's airing schedule is structured a bit different from the other shows:

I was wondering if somebody could make a list of all the shows we're allowed to nominate. Since I'm not from the USA, I don't exactly know which shows are still aired there.

I will definitely allow Dead Like Me. Im gonna be pretty flexible especially if the show aired at least a few eps during the September to end of May sweeps period.

I will also allow any British shows that are aired on BBC America. I know they air "The Office", "Trailer Park Boys", "Ab Fab", and "Coupling" are all aired on it. But what I dont know is when they aired the episodes for the first time in the US. Can anyone help me out here?

As for a list, I will work on that and get back to you, but if you have a question about a certain show just ask.

I think it would be easier to give you a list of shows that arent eligible.

North Shore (if it gets through the summer and airs in the fall similar to the O.C. last year it will be eligible next year)

Does this mean Big Brother can't be nominated since it's only on in the summer? That's one of my favorite reality shows.

Also, can we only nominate one for each category, or a few?
