I love that Emily was right in regards to Toby. One of the few good things to come out of 3B and that whole storyline (which was a mess, lbr, here) is that Emily was right when Spencer wasn't, because Spencer is so used to being right, and the audience are kind of used to it being that way, but they showed that Emily's instincts should not be undermined - she has to be taken just as seriously as Spencer.

I think it was important to show that, seeing as people do usually just go with Spencer. It needed to be shown that that isn't always the best way to go.

Really helped to show her downfall. And it really helped to showcase that while we don't see a lot of ET on screen anymore, it's still there.

I think there was a huge difference in their reactions. Spencer went with what she saw, despite everything she knew contradicting that. Emily went with what she knew, because at this point she's kind of seen that everything isn't always as it seems. I don't really think it's an issue of Emily being too trusting, I think it's a matter of her needing more than what Spencer had to question what she knows.
