He's great for her I'm pretty sure they'll still be together after the time jump. We just have to hope it stays that way.

As much of a source as you can have with this show, it's mostly people following the casts posts really closely while they are filming. I think Spaleb will fall right back into super sleuthing with each other.

The writers are definitely the type to make you want to pull your hair out. I think Spoby will be okay tho even if they break up during the time jump which seems likely.

Hanna is a romantic and Caleb is her first love. I didn't even think about how he is the opposite of her dad. Good catch. He's definitely more stable plus even if he leaves; he comes back unlike her dad. Also, Caleb is always going to defend her and that type of support isn't what she gets from her dad or even her friends sometimes.

Travis was a clear rebound. I think the PLL writers can't have the girls be single for long. I don't know why though. I mean Holden and Lucas (in younger seasons) were awesome and they were friends to the girls. Travis was great but Hanna when Caleb got back did not surprise me in wanting to pick up where they left off. Poor guy just couldn't compete with the history and love that Haleb has. It's the same with Spoby when Wren came back in season 2.

I'm hoping they don't go too far with Spencer/Caleb. There's no excuse for ruining the various friendships for it. I ship them AU, not canon

That's what's so great about Caleb. You hear a lot about girls marrying their fathers, but Hanna would be marrying the complete opposite - says a lot about her dad and a lot about what she values in a partner.

He was a rebound An unnecessary one too, seeing as he could have just been a friend, but they weren't planning on bringing Caleb back initially, I guess, so they shoved them together and only succeeded imo, in showing that Hanna would never be over Caleb. I think it's different with Wren, I don't think Spencer ever really cared about him all that much, it was about Melissa, and then her pain (he always shows up when she's vulnerable and if she's not she pretty much forgets he exists), I do think Hanna genuinely cared about Travis, just not in the way she wanted to.

She definitely loves Caleb. I don't know if either of you agree but anyone who leaves a voicemail like Hanna did in 4x17 after being heartbroken by that person is very much in love. What did you think of the voicemail?

Bummer about your source. Could have been useful for info. about Spoby. They wouldn't put Spaleb together although I wondered a bit when PLL crew made it seem like Spaleb were living together. Now, I know that they wouldn't do that with the core 4 and that Haleb is more than likely the only couple to survive the jump.

I do wonder how they will get Spoby back and if they will be single or not. I'm worried too so we can worry together. Lol! I worry about why they break up in the time jump tbh if they do.

I agree with the marrying your dad for some women - I've seen it or put the pieces together from people I know. Hanna is actually the first to get married in the books and she married at 18. I think both the show and book character know what they want in a relationship because of the dad. Plus the insecurities Hanna has about her body and the way Caleb has been good about that I think tells Hanna that she has a keeper in him. Plus she is pretty tenacious when she knows what she wants.

Ironically, Wren is Spencer's endgame in the books. Although book Wren is worse than show Wren but that may change by Tuesday. I think it was definitely about Melissa but I think she cared about Wren as well. It was bad timing and Wren probably reminded her of Ian in a bad way. I think once Toby came on though that Wren never stood a chance and that was the definitive end of any Wren thoughts she may have been having. Spoby's scrabble game and the aftermath is what made me ship them. Plus he really stood up to Jenna about Spencer.

It's annoying, because it was really useful during 3B and 5A especially, I knew about the Hastings separation and Melissa's confession quite a while before they aired, but now set is pretty much on lockdown and they're not saying anything I don't know if it's that they're no longer getting the info or if they're no longer comfortable with sharing it.

I'm kind of hoping if they are broken up that Spencer will be single and Toby won't. I think that's unlikely, though. It would be different though, so I'd prefer it. If they break up during the time jump it's probably because of the distance. I know Toby would go with her, but they're young, and actually pretty level-headed, so they may not see that as a good idea?

Caleb's been pretty wonderful about everything. I'd love for her to confide in him about the eating disorder she had. I can't remember her bringing that up with him and imo, it's pretty important for him to know about it.

I heard, but in all honesty, I gave up on the books half way through book 7. I'm a former language and literature student and I found them really difficult to read, tbh, they just weren't great, and when you're used to Beloved and Empire of the Sun etc. it's a huge, annoying, difference

I never saw any indication that Spencer ever cared about Wren, tbh. She's never done anything more than use him when she's vulnerable and has no interest in him when she isn't vulnerable (actually mocked him in 3A - "downton grabby"). I have no doubt she would have chose Alex over him if it had come to it, too. ST's beginning was beautiful. I find it interesting that despite the breakups they've had, she has never genuinely been in a relationship anyone else since they first got together.

I agree that only one couple maybe two usually survives a time jump. I think Haleb is going to be the only couple though. I wouldn't have said that a week ago but things change quickly as you get new information. It's cool that you cultivated that source even though they are radio silent now.

A Toni Morrison fan - the more I find out about you is the more I think we could be friends in real life. I love literature as well but I tend to lean more towards obvious philosophical and political literature. It's an occupational (meaning major in college) hazard. I'm a pretty big Machiavelli and Nietzsche fan in terms of their knowledge of human nature.

I couldn't get past the third book and I have a pretty good threshold for bad literature. Plus no Caleb and Toby died early although Ezria broke up for good. Glad that it got turned into a tv series like you though.

I think Toby probably will be dating someone else. I'm not sure about Spencer. She probably will I assume. She hasn't been in another realationship. I didn't even think about that. That's interesting.

I do wonder if Hanna told him about her eating disorder. The show hasn't really been dwelling on it past the cupcakes incident (which was heartbreaking) and the reveal that Alison was the devil on Hanna's shoulder in that regard. I do wish they touched on it more because it's a dangerous disease. Plus the media and tv perpetuate a certain type of look as standard and eating disorders are often a consequence of this.

I think Hanna/Caleb are going to be the only couple together There's someone that is insisting that Ashley said in an interview that they're not, but she won't provide the interview when asked and I've looked and found nothing - probably because it doesn't exist. They're together, that's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I will give anything a try when it comes to reading. If it's badly written I find that hugely off putting. I prefer books that mean something of course, which is probably why, despite her not being the best writer in the world (she's good, but I've read better), I like Jodi Picoult's books. The subject matter is always important. I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird right now,, though.

I'm still amazed that I made it to book 8, tbh. Took me like, a year and a half after getting half way through it to admit that I was never going to finish it It's one of those rare cases where the show is better.

She likely will, but I hope not. I'd prefer she be focused on her career for once. It's kind of insulting that they're giving the impression that these girls can't survive without a boyfriend.

As long as we haven't seen it come up between them, I have to assume he doesn't know, and that's sad, imo. He'd want to know.

Skimming the thread. But I also agree that if anyone was gonna marry young, it'd be Hanna. Caleb is a good support for her. Emily never had a long enough relationship and one that she trusted. Aria ... we're not going to talk about that one. And Spencer is sooooooo not ready. She's way too independent right now and wants her me-time and to not have to "answer" to anyone.

I want Spencer&Caleb happenings. Can she be best man/maid of honor for HC? She's the only one they need.

Yep i agree it makes sense for hanna and caleb cause they are so perfect for each other seeing them eith someone else wouod actually kill me i would be so mad so marriage or even if they stay together through the time jumps nice i mean it looks liek they will be living together and he will be paying for her college

Toby/spencer both to independent this last season hasnt been the best season for them as a couple a lot of bad things happen when toby was away so i don't know i feel they still need to work on the trust issues i mean him being a cop sounded like a great idea at the time but it actually ruin thier relationship

Caleb basically told her he's going to uproot his whole life and take on a high paid job so that they're together and she doesn't have to worry about paying for college. Having them split up wouldn't make much sense to be following that They have to be the couple that is still together.

The main issue with Spencer and Toby right now is that they're so busy running around trying to protect each other that they don't communicate and end up hurting each other. Their hearts are in the right place but they've both been so damaged that they still haven't quite worked out how to open up.

It really is!! I'm loving it so far.
