They're beneficial to all of the characters involved The Emily/Toby friendship in particular has been really neglected for a while now. We don't get much Spencer/Caleb, but in comparison to Emily/Toby, we've got quite a bit.

It makes no sense that they can't give both some focus. Toby having a girlfriend shouldn't mean that he doesn't have friends! That's stupid, tbh He and Emily were always so close and it's kind of sad that we don't see that any more. We should at least see as much of them as we see of Spencer/Caleb.

In terms of story it is, but in terms of character it isn't They can't fully develop the characters when they're ignoring outside friendships, imo, and that goes for the girls and the LIs. They need to give them a little more attention, even if it's not much, even if it's all of them hanging out as a group.

It would make sense in terms of Spencer/Toby/Hanna/Caleb/Emily/Paige at least They all know each other, there's quite a few friendships outside of the obvious LI relationships. I know group scenes can be difficult to shoot, but once or twice a season isn't too much to ask, especially at this point, while they're still teenagers and would logically want to hang out with their friends.

I'm expecting her to be back sooner or later Hopefully with a bigger storyline and more integrated within the group. I need more Spencer/Paige as well as more Spencer/Caleb and Emily/Toby.

yes there are so many friendship outside the four girls that they never show adn its so fustrating

It's a shame, tbh I feel like we're missing out on so much just because they don't show us these friendships. The more relationships that they develop, the more they'll have to write, and that could only ever be good for the show.
