see, the Lance family stuff doesn't bother me that much. Outside of the Queens they're pretty much the most important family on the show and if
Spoiler:

the other thing that bugs me is that so many characters are kind of just there right now.

Diggle until the last episode was just there standing there randomly and then Sara and Oliver would go off and do something.

Roy is just there with Thea / sometimes Sin and they don't always do much. They're just hanging out.

Moira is running for office but right now more of her time and what is going on is her declining relationship with Oliver.

Sebastian Blood is MIA

Even Felicity. I don't know if I want Oliver and Felicity together romantically, but outside of the episode with the Clock Maker/Clock King guy she hasn't done much. I kind of miss seeing her at the desk at Queen Consolidated / Towers, etc, and them doing stuff there. Now everything is in the lair, you almost never see her doing anything else anymore. Its like she's in a holding pattern until she and Oliver get together or something.

I don't know... I still love the show. Its still wonderfully down... but I do have a few frustrations with this season

BlueDog9 03-26-2014 07:09 AM

It seems like we're barely getting to see some of the regular characters because they're so focused on Sara and Oliver's relationship with her. Never been a fan of Laurel so seeing her more just makes me more annoyed.

bonnie51 03-26-2014 07:38 AM

meh... I don't mind Laurel.

The reason I think is the show got too damn big.

Really, the only person gone from last season is Tommy. And I would include Shado but we still get flash backs / hauntings of her sometimes so I don't know if she is gone for good in that regard and even if she is, she was around for a good part of the season.

But it added:

Sara ( in the present), Slade (in the present), Brother Blood, Isabell, Sin, Nyssa ( who is coming back), expanded a little on the Suicide Squad, kept Malcolm lurking around somewhere, introduced Barry and now has the Flash back-door pilot coming up and the characters for that that have yet to be introduced, the Huntress is coming back, Ivo had a slightly bigger role. So in theory you doubled Slade and Sara's screen time since they are now both with Oliver in the flash backs and in real time. Slade maybe not quite so much but since their is an episode called "Death Stroke" I imagine his screen time is going to go up soon.

So you add all of that up and its pretty darn hard IMO to get the secondary main characters time.

You had: Felicity, Diggle and Laurel returning who had all real strong ties with Oliver from the first season, along with Slade / Sara when they came onto the scene. SO they were going to get the majority of screen time, IMO. But the problem was adding everyone else as well because now you have so many characters running around and just not enough time to do it anything with some of them.

And some characters (Sin to me) that really don't seem to serve much of a purpose.

And I don't know if they are breaking from shooting, its a trip regarding the show or what, but Colton mentioned that he was going to Italy next week? If its just a break from shooting than I'd figured it might mean that he wasn't going to be around much in 1x19 ( the backdoor pilot for the Flash) or something

Welcome

What did you guys think of Roy's plot in Wednesday's episode?

bonnie51 03-29-2014 07:59 AM

As someone not crazy about Roy/ Thea I didn't mind them breaking up... interesting that Oliver told him to...

with Thea in trouble now I have a feeling it might threaten that relationship with Roy and Oliver which would play into the roy Arsenal had in the comics as he and Oliver were not always on the same page

BlueDog9 03-30-2014 08:50 AM

I get why he wanted Roy to break-up with Thea but I don't like that Roy made Thea think he was cheating.

bonnie51 03-30-2014 04:09 PM

meh, I didn't really mind that... I mean, obviously, its not GOOD but...I mean, if you try to break up with someone and they tell you "no" but you really want to push them away ...

his real options left were

A) Say he didn't care about her ( which she'd probably just take as a lie and follow him around to see what was going on)

B) Act like you were cheating

C) Get physically or emotionally abusive

D) Tell her that her brother told him to break up with her because he's not always incontrol of his rage and he's part of this crime fighting group now that her brother's the head of, etc...

So... I can see where Option B might have been the best of bad choices, considering OLiver did tell him he might kill Roy if he found out he told Thea

BlueDog9 03-31-2014 07:01 AM

Thea's going to be angry and hurt once she finds out the truth

bonnie51 03-31-2014 10:36 AM

I'm sure she is and rightfully so... though I think she already knows maybe that he did it just to push her away but yes, I imagine she is going to be upset and she should be
