Poor Tess, walking the very fine line between friendship and professionalism. And Cat gets this. She’s totally conflicted asking Tess’ help knowing full well she’s dragging her through stuff against the law and sometimes against her will. Their friendship is being tested like it’s never been before. This hurts big time. I really like their friendship.

I loved that scene. I remember commenting on it in the episode thread. Even with everything that has happened it is nice to see they are still best friends!

I’d like to think it’s a Kristin thing (whether as an actor or personal mannerism). She’s done similar nudging gestures on Vincent a couple times:

1) last scene, 4x07 - Cat nudges Vincent’s arm with her hand while admonishing him that he can’t just blur his way on his own to stress that point

2) last scene, 3x04 - worried about Bob and Carol still out there, Cat asks Vincent if he was awake to which he answered “no”. Cat hits his back with her hand in frustration (more than a nudge, though)

Both gestures are a natural reaction when the person you’re talking to is being “difficult” which is pretty much what I normally do as well, especially when stressing a very crucial point to make sure the other person “hears” me real good. Sometimes I’d follow up with a slight nudge to the back of the head or a punch to the arm (lovingly, of course) for good measure.

Glad Tess came to her senses and pulled through. But it did come on her own terms, offering to help despite Cat’s misgivings and breaking the law herself. Loved Cat’s horrified reaction when she broke the glass and pulled the fire alarm.
