I wanted so badly to see that one you were talking, I searched on youtube every interview where they sit in that place and suits but there isn't any interruption maybe they deleted that one

I've seen that recently and had same thought but unfortunately writers forget about stuff that happened 1-2 episodes earlier (for example that Monroe wanted only family and never was happy with power and that he isn't power hungry), so I don't expect that they will remember that one

Yeah but he also was much younger than himself. All the women they showed he had feelings for were all about his age, Emma, Duncan, his wife who died during childbirth.

But that doesn´t mean he can´t fall in love with Charlie, of course he can. I just don´t think that his usual type are younger girls i think the writers just wanted us to think he was a player (and still is?) before the blackout.

Are there any interviews yet from wondercon from Tracy? Or some Q & A? Maybe someone who was there can post something about it.

Tracy didn't go to Wondercon, only Stephen and Liz. there has been one report (no Charloe) which I posted on the spoilers thread.

The texting the younger girl in 1x01 didn't really say much to me since he would have been only what, 29-30 then? 22 to 30 isn't much of an age gap. On the other hand, the girl on his arm in 2x01 when Charlie see's him at the casino after the fight....yeah, she didn't look any more than maybe 1-2 years older than Charlie. And now, I believe after all these little 'teases' they've been throwing at us, that it was intentional to show that he's attracted to younger women...who just so happen to be around Charlies age. Or maybe I'm reading too much into that too, lol.

I don't see it that much...if only b/c in season 1 they had no idea that Charloe was going to be a thing. She was firmly intended for Jason, imo, and the whole chemistry thing didn't show itself yet between David and Tracy b/c they had no onscreen time together. Or did I get the seasons mixed up? I thought the texting thing was in Season 1...could have been a flashback. Even so, I had the idea that the writer's hadn't seen the chemistry between those two until a few episodes were in the can.

It might also be a personal thing for me. I don't really like the idea of Monroe going for younger girls. I like him with Charlie, but I like to think of that as a situation where he wasn't expecting it...maybe even fought against it...but his feelings for her can't be suppressed. I like that better than going for her simply b/c she's young and firm. And I really thought he genuinely liked Duncan (whom I absolutely hated until I realized she wasn't all doe-eyed over Bass but held her own...then I simply adored her), and she's mature and confident.

However, I DO think it was intentional that Rachel told Charlie that she was 22 and had her whole life ahead of her. I wonder if it's a reaction to the numerous FB and social media posts that keep stating that Charlie is still a teenager...when she's not.

I think you are right because I think I've seen multiple copies as well. In them, both he and GC are both wearing the same suits, but the content is a bit different. In one, he talks about GOT being one of the shows he constantly watches. In another version, he makes a comment about what he does for fun and says something about how he drinks a lot and GC makes a crack about him being so honest...that's the one I've been looking for, but I can't seem to find it again. If anyone else has, would you mind posting a link to it? And I do remember the other cast members coming up behind them, but I can't recall which interview it was b/c (again) it seemed to have been on the same show as the outfits are the same. Btw...anyone notice what a snazzy dresser David is? I love how he pairs jeans with a blazer and a white t-shirt. All dressed up is nice too, but the tee gives us a nice look at his neck and part of his chest. I know; I'm weird. I have this thing about muscular necks. Don't even get me started on commercials that feature hot and sweaty men taking a big gulp from a glass with water drizzling down their fronts, their muscles contracting with each swallow Oo

Yeah, the texting the girl was in the 1st episode of S1, which is why I was saying I don't see that really having any bearing on it. But when S2 happened, there were already several of us on the Charloe ship because of the whole Strausser pointing gun at Charlie (Bass' reaction to her fearlessness) and his Tower save, etc. So, combining the fact that because they had already interacted on some level during S1, and all the hints that they've dropped during S2...tells me that the younger girl on his arm during 2x01 was their way of saying 'hey, he's cool with being with girls of that age range...so don't be shocked when we hint at Charlie/Monroe'.

I don't think they were trying to say that his 'type' is younger girls, just that age difference doesn't bother him.

I also believe that they had Rachel mention the age to try to get those 'but she's too young' people to lay off. Other wise, she probably would have just been like 'you have your whole life ahead of you'. There really was no other reason to specifically state her age.

I hope so, I see that thing this way: Monroe isn't running to younger chicks but if he wants he can get young girls to and sometimes he likes that, as it was in New Vegas, though it wasn't much like, more just night partner, but as saprater said, I like to think that situation with Charlie will be unexpected for him and he will fight against it.. and age gap will one of the reasons Bass would think they can never be together

p.s. even if there wasn't that girl in new vegas, writers clearly underline this when Duncan told him about young girls...
