I just don't get why anyone thought Arrow be sticking completely to comic canon. The comics change all the time and no show/movie is exactly like the source material.

Me either. There were always going to be changes. Also the show runners have been super clear that they weren't going to follow comic canon and we're going to have to write to their cast from day 1. Don't know why it still shocks people when they don't follow canon. 4 seasons and countless statements to the contrary from the show runners and some people still don't get it.

It's a shame. They are missing an awesome show being blinded by a need for comic canon.
