I felt like it was an ok episode but like with most things in this show it failed in the emotional aspect because they failed to bring any of this about beforehand.
This is episode 12! All this build up to Vince should've been done since at least 6x09. He should've been helping Dinah at least without her knowing. Black Siren... Loved it but again....could've been soooo much better if A. this had been her first REAL kill of the season and B. If they built up her relationship with Cayden some more. Cayden lost a son, she lost a father, they could've had some morbid father/daughter type relationship going on. Help us understand why she is really helping him outside of the "you saved my life so im going to follow you around until you die" Caydens team is slowly crumbling from the inside without his knowledge but we've had literally 1 scene where all of them are in the same scene together but they never even spoke to each other outside of Cayden. Why are they all together? Do they even like each other? Do they even know each others names? If you have a team good or bad they have to have some sort of connection and common thread outside of "im evil, duh!" NTA...the writers are really doing them no favors and I hope they know it because they have the team fail at every.single.thing it is so bad, embarrassing, cringe-worthy, and maddening. The writers arent even giving the team a fighting chance! Vince dying couldve been the straw that broke the camels back. This is where the team could've REALLY split into two, one half ready to stop playing nice and the other still doing Olivers partial light and love. I dont know why we had to wait half a season for the season to really get started. Why must you do this to us MG? |

I have a love hate feeling with this episode. So many great development with Siren and with Dinah.
I love that Dinah’s flashbacks parallels with the present story. Reminded me of early Arrow flashbacks. The sad part was it played out the same tragic way. I never fully trusted Vince but that’s neither here nor there. So Vince is really dead, right? I’m not sure how his regineration thing works. Are they gonna be like surprise it just took a while? This is arrow after all. We are finally starting to see the cracks with Black Siren. Especially concerning Lance. I do think he’s getting through to her. Also now obviously the rivalry is gonna be full force now that she killed Vince. Siren looked conflicted and didn’t want to do it. However I think she still feels indebted to Cayden as well. I love the Dinah and Lance dynamic and now that’s gonna be shot becuase she’s gonna be all out for killing Siren. Lance believes he’s getting through to Siren so yea. That’s Gina be rough. I’m not sure I’m gonna like this darker path they seem to want to take Dinah down. I wasn’t a fan of her anger towards Oliver. Vince ha already put himself in the position with Cayden. It was of his own doing. So Alena... yea. I still think she’s not trustable either. I might have issues. Still she killed that guy with the elevator even though she said it was an accident. She was a fully Cayden lackey at one point even before he shoe or had someone shoot her. Can’t remene at this point. Either way I think she’s playing Felicity. I think it’s possible she’s in on all the set up with the photo and the video. Is it possible she set Cayden on Oliver’s path so he’d kill Cayden! Eh, no never mind I don’t like that. I want someone bigger and badder then her to behind this set up. NTA is getting a bit to whinny and stupid. At first I atleast understood Rene’s position but now they are all just being petty. They are trying to build their own OTA I guess. However, I think they are lacking perspective and realizing Dig, Felicity and Oliver are so close becuase of all the pain, sorrow and triumphs they’ve been through together. It didn’t happen over night. __________________

I liked the episode at some point, but I don't know... I don't know how to explain it. I don't like how the story is being handled. The only truly good thing that I saw in this episode was Vicent playing all the time being at risk, and that "hacker" or evil person who made Cayden believe the Green Arrow killed his son. I didn't like to see Vincent die, I actually thought that there was so much potential on his character - he could make an appearance in Legends of Tomorrow perhaps? I was expecting at the end to see that he lived...
I guess this bittersweet feeling is a consequence of both teams failing at everything. Or that it was no sense to go for Vincent - perhaps if they had gone after getting the bomb, they would have saved Vince (the five together). And honestly is time for Team Arrow to recruit some new members (or old? Thea should come back at least for some time). __________________

I thought it was a great episode! Lots of action!
I felt terrible for Dinah in this episode with what happened to her boyfriend, but I am scared about seeing her go dark as well. Dont really blame her for wanting to kill Laurel though. I also felt bad for Quentin dealing with the Laurel stuff. |
