6x05 - episode discussion

Slade (Manu Bennett) returns and asks Oliver (Stephen Amell) for help in tracking down his son. When they learn Joe (guest star William Franklyn-Miller) has been taken hostage by mercenaries, their mission to save him gets complicated by a terrible revelation that could shatter Slade's hopes of reunion forever. Meanwhile, Vigilante reappears in Star City.

whoo hoo. It only took me like 2 hour to get this up. Time to pay to upgrade the desktop its really been frustratingly slow lately.

Absolutely loved the episode. 10/10 for me. I'll give better review tomorrow.

I like the episode. I can’t wait for more of Dinah and Vince and where that storyline will go.

Your not the only one. In the comics, Adrian Chase was a actually Vigilante. He could also heal, but not because he was a metahuman. He had taken a special potion from a group of monks he trained with in the far east, where he also learned martial arts. It was kind of like the Lazarus Pit, only something you drink, which gave you a healing factor like Wolverine. The other Vigilante was Dave Winston, who took over for a short time after Adrian had given up the title.

Dave was actually pretty good, but he was killed by the Peacemaker, and afterwards Adrian became Vigilante again to go after Peacemaker and avenge Dave. But I don't know who this new guy is wearing the Vigilante outfit; I don't know of any corresponding character in the comics. I'm glad they gave him the healing ability. Although the show made it a metahuman ability. I was also surprised Dinah let him go, so it should be interesting to watch how this plays out.

I knew Vigilante originally was Adrian Chase in the comics, but I didn't know much more than that. And the heal factor was a great addition, at least it is coherent with the metahuman stuff. I will enjoy the dynamic between him and Dinah. Perhaps he will become a good vigilante because of her.

OMG I love Slade Wilson. I so glad they are using him again on this show, even if its slightly unrealistic. I do think there was just a bit too much of him in this particular episode but I still enjoyed it. His son at the end! Oh boy.

Felicity being there for Oliver and them having a mature conversation was so sweet.

Dinah seeing her old partner was sad... I guess we'll see where that storyline goes.
