I completely agree with the poster who said Oliver loving Laurel is a case of selfish people loving selfishly. My problem is that I wish Laurel would set higher standards.

Every episode has been Laurel's dad telling her to stay away from Oliver or Arrow, Laurel ignoring him and reaching out to them and then being disappointed. It's just all very childish. I don't doubt Cassidy and Amell's chemistry but the writing is killing them for me. It's all too much too soon.

They can still be involved in plots together and she can still help Arrow. I just don't think they need to keep throwing in silly pining scenes that make them look like kids.

But Laurel is a grown adult, who can make her own decisions. So if she wants to see Oliver that that's her decision, and she has to pay the consequences for it if she gets her heartbroken.

Even though Quentin is her father, the more he tries to control her life. The more she is going to rebel against him (seeing Ollie or possibly Arrow. - Even though, I don't think we'll see a lot of Laurel/Arrow post ep 4). But I also think, she can see the good Arrow is trying to do.

The problem with Quentin is, he sees the world in black and white, and there is no middle ground. Laurel sees the world in shades of grey. She knew working for Arrow is somewhat wrong, but if it means in saving the life of innocent. She is willing to take that chance.

Technically Quentin told Laurel to stay away from Oliver in ep 2 after China White tries to kill Laurel. In ep. 3 they met by chance (because they were at the same club).

I know she's a grown woman. It's watching her make the same silly decision every episode regarding Oliver that irritates me. All of their interactions are the same at the moment. I just wish we'd had more anger in the first episode followed by her merely tolerating him for a few episodes before we got into the rebonding territory.

Maybe but I also think Quentin recognises that Laurel can be too naive which usually results her getting hurt.

Episode three was probably my favourite Laurel episode because at least she was unapoligetic about her actions to Oliver.

I dont think their interactions are necessary the same. (Although it seems like Laurel is bi-polar regarding Oliver. One week she hates him, and the next week they are on somewhat civil terms.)

But I will admit they may be moving a bit fast- relationship wise and the show in general. I mean next week they kissed (even though I don't think they will get back together).

Nightwing would be awesome, I hope they have plans to bring him to the show. For now it could just be an easter egg.
