Episode 1.03 Discussion: Lone Gunmen
1.03. Lone Gunmen DC COMICS’ VILLIAN DEADSHOT SETS HIS SIGHTS ON ARROW — Oliver (Stephen Amell) is surprised when someone shoots and kills one of his targets. As his plan is to bring people to justice vs. outright killing them, Oliver doesn’t appreciate the help and searches for the gunman. He soon learns that the man, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe), is taking out businessmen who are scheduled to bid at an auction on an energy company and Walter (Colin Salmon) is one of the bidders. Realizing he can’t protect his family and stop Deadshot at the same time, Oliver enlists Detective Lance’s (Paul Blackthorne) help, but his plan has dire consequences. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (Colin Donnell) get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver. Willa Holland, David Ramsey and Susanna Thompson also star. Guy Bee directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Andrew Kreisberg (103).  __________________

It was an amazing ep.
Love the island flashbacks. It seems like Ollie has an ally on the island. The guy on the island probably taught him a majority of the stuff. Laurel kicking butt was awesome. I see her becoming the Black Canary. (I kind of figured her it would be because of her dad forcing her taking self defense classes). Thea is becoming really annoying, and a character I'm starting to dislike. - was kind of surprised that she was the one who spilled about the Laurel/Tommy thing. Especially when Tommy didn't even want to tell him in the previous ep. I don't consider dating/her fling (whatever it is) with Tommy moving on. I mean he is pretty much like the "past Oliver". I think that is what draws her to him. I still think Tommy is her rebound from Oliver. __________________

Great episode! I can see Laurel beginning her origins of becoming the Black Canary. John knows the truth now, so that will be awesome to see. I wonder if Tommy will soon become the archer he's to become, but be Ollie's partner this time around? Also, its time for Thea to become her brothers sidekick, Speedy
I can't wait till next week. |

 OMG this episode was so amazing, the ending no words. I was so shocked but god am I so happy! John Diggle finally knows? this quickly. i was just so happy and shocked with the ending.Now let me give a short review. Looking at it from Oliver and Thea point of views, the both had bad parent's who didn't guide them the right way and I was so happy to see Oliver speak out like that towards his Mother. It's time for her to be a parent, as she seems to have no been. I mean when she was grounded, Thea was basically in shocked like she never heard the word. Thea is coming off as a ....not the best person but you gotta remember. Her parents seems to not have been there for her and her Dad and Oliver [until now] has pretty much been dead the for five years, so I don't know what has been happening during all of that time. I also love this Green Arrow and Quentin interaction. Quentin doesn't seems to like Green Arrow but he do know when he's telling the truth, so smart but not trusting. I'm also starting to get by the Laurel/Joanna friendship. I love Oliver but I agreed with Joanna that it's time to movie on, and her explanation to it, was on point. Laurel relationship with Tommy, is one that I enjoy more then Laurel relationship with Oliver at the moment. I'm just happy the Oliver/Laurel relationship isn't getting pushed... although I most of the time like Arrow/Dinah, and all of that. lol on the show I'm just not sold to Oliver/Laurel yet. Also I loved seeing a bit of Black Canary in Laurel! I was just so happy to see her fight so well. Tommy and Oliver friendship is another good one. Nothing of course made me more proud then the Arrow/Diggle friendship. Although I was shocked by the ending, I kind of saw it coming when we look at the flashback from the past and Oliver ally at the Island tells him: "This place is too dangerous for any one man to be alone." for some reason, I thought it was foreshadowing to what will happen in the present. |

the fact that Ollie let John find out about him was truly the best part of the ep. Besides the Deadshot stuff.
I was annoyed with the females (besides Moria and Joanna) in this ep. Although Laurel did kick some butt. __________________
