My way of seeing is that we use shows/characters as a scape from reality... so in reality we have things a bit harsher and clear that good is good and bad is bad. When it comes to a show, you get to see the character in a more personal level by seeing what precede something and following their struggle afterwards, which gives us an insight that, yeah he did a horrible thing, but that in his own way he is broken inside (an analysis that you can't really afford to make about killers in real). Well, it's either that, or we really are not that normal and just have the hots for the evil guy

As much as I love Rebekah and miss her, I don't want her to come back, at least not in present time. Claire deserves so much better than this show and Rebekah deserves better as a character.

^ I agree about that... but from what Claire has been saying in interviews and Paleyfest, I'm pretty sure she'll be back either at the season finale, or season 2.... it does feel like she is just taking some time off.
