Hope to get back to my rewatch

His name was mentioned in 2x09 at the end related to Elijah's first appearance Rose mentions his name saying that even if Elijah was "dead" that the others would come for Elena for Klaus

Same episode cause at the end of the episode Rose mentioned him saying the others would come cause they had to for him, for Klaus

^ Did you note that, in the next episode, Rose confirmed Elena's assessment that Klaus was the oldest vampire in the history of time...even though Elijah was technically older than Klaus? It just shows the change that TPTB made on the fly to make them brothers.

Technically I would consider all the Originals as equal oldest vampires cause they were all turned at the same time

^ Yes, it's true that all of the Originals are the same age when you consider that they were all turned on the same day/night...but since Elijah was the older brother when they were human, Elijah will always be older than Klaus. That's how I see things.
