Exile was something and only was given that cause of Caroline

otherwise Klaus totally would have killed him for unsiring the hybrids

^ That is true. Klaus exiling Tyler was a punishment that definitely upset Caroline, but it wasn't so final that Klaus wasn't able to eventually earn her forgiveness.

Caroline really was the only thing that kept Klaus from exacting his revenge on Tyler.

Tyler had the misfortune of being one of Elena's friends and a werewolf. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Klaus wanted to figure out why he couldn't make his hybrids and Tyler ended up being the reluctant test subject. I think Klaus probably wouldn't have chosen Tyler to be one of his hybrids if he had more time to think about it.

^ Yeah. =( Klaus knew that targeting Tyler was the best way for him to get what he wanted (i.e. his hybrid army). The Mystic Falls gang wasn't going to fight so hard for someone they didn't care about...but they would fight for someone that they did care about.

I wonder what Klaus thought would happen afterwards. Did he think that he could turn Tyler into a hybrid and that was it? He really should have planned for some things going wrong.

^ Considering how it all turned out (i.e. the hybrid revolt), Klaus really did need a Plan B and C when it came to making Tyler his first hybrid.

I think Klaus' mistake was that he didn't anticipate something going wrong. He forced the Mystic Falls gang's hand to help him figure out his hybrid dilemma, not considering that they would fight to make sure Tyler wouldn't become a brainless zombie.

^ Exactly. On the one hand, Klaus pushed the Mystic Falls gang to solve his hybrid problem by using Tyler as his bargaining chip, and they solve it. On the other hand, they fought to make sure Tyler wasn't under Klaus' thumb, and he ended up turning Klaus' hybrids against him.

We're already at thread number 2!

Because Tyler was Klaus' first hybrid. That meant something.
Because Klaus assigned hybrid bodyguards for Tyler's protection.

And I'm out.
