^ She really does! It's been well established that he has always been worried that she would see the monster in him and grow to hate him or fear him, so he tried to keep that side of him hidden. I think, when she unintentionally saw the evil hybrid side of him when she was a little girl, a part of him thought that his worst nightmare had become reality. In that moment where she kissed his cheek, she showed him that her love would always be unconditional. Look how floored Klaus looks in that second gif.

^ Oh, yes. From the moment we found out that Klaus was going to be a father, it was established that she would be the hope for the Mikaelson family. Now we'll see how she will honor her father's memory and carry the Mikaelson name.
