 I'm excited, too. Can't wait for the filming to start in London this August. I was sad at the news that Patty Jenkins had been replaced - it would've been great to see a woman direct a superhero movie like this - but I'm optimistic about Alan Taylor doing a great job. To be honest, I would have loved Kenneth Branagh to tack the sequel, too, but it's understandable that he chose to focus on his acting career at the moment. __________________

I wonder who the villain would be... everyone was speculating Thanos tbh
 but then the producers said that they had other plans  __________________

It looks like they chose to save Thanos for a later appearance in the Marvel movies.
The characters I've seen mentioned around the most as people's speculation for the new big villain are Surtur and the Executioner, I think. I'm not enough of a comics fan to have a preference, as long as Thor, Loki and the other returning characters are written well and given more development, I'm open to all kinds of guest star villain. __________________

Several articles reported Natalie's disappointment about Patty Jenkins being replaced, but fortunately she was already signed up for the sequel.
I think the only cast member who hasn't confirmed their return so far (besides Josh Dallas, who had filming schedule issues) is Kat Dennings. In an interview she said she isn't allowed to say if she'll be in the movie or not, yet. __________________

While I'm really sad that Josh Dallas won't be returning (I think OUaT needs him more *pout*) I am excited that they're trying to get Zachary Levi as Fandral again! __________________

 Zachary Levi had to pass up on the role because of conflicting filming schedule, too, right (with Chuck)? It's nice that he gets a second chance now, although I generally don't like recasting. I think I mentioned this in another thread, but the only doubt I havce abuot ZL is that I can't picture him with blonde hair.  __________________

Add me Fran! And its so great to see you over here. I know you were a big part of our campaign too
 Thor really grew on me. The backstory wasn't as interesting to me as some of the other avenger stories but having watching Avengers and Thor again, its made me appreciate it more, seeing how Thor and Loki's relationship has evolved and the tension, and competitiveness between them. I really liked Natalie's role in the movie too so its great she will return! __________________
