Rewatching the movie yesterday night reminded me once again what a great balance it had between action, humor and emotional moments. The action scenes weren't anything extraordinary but all in all I loved those, too.

Which is why I don't mind if Kenneth comes back to direct Thor 3.

He could play the new villain or some Asgardian, too, so we save time and money.

Oooh, yes. I'm up for that idea. Is there a villain you'd like to see? Besides Amora, of course. Me, I'd like to see Surtur.

Amora and Surtur would be my pics/predictions, too.
I doubt we'll ever see Hela, Thanos is reserved for The Avengers I think. There are also several villians I don't know because there are huge holes in my knowledge.

I've heard lots of praise of the Thor: God of Thunder series, which features The God Butcher, whose evil motivation is exactly what his name says, but it's a too new, too out-there figure to be featured in the MCU, imo.

I'll have to give that series a look.

Same here. And I've been saying that for a long time, shame on me.

I'd probably make Amora my #1 pick because it's about time Marvel scores a big female villain. And the Thor-verse still needs a big female character. Hoping she won't have to deal with the Crappy Villains Curse that haunts the MCU most of the times.

Loki has been the only villain that has been developed well enough, but then he also got to be in three movies to see it happening. All the other villains have been dispatched by the end of the movie.

True. Thor 1 features Loki's origin story as much as Thor's, which is something no other MCU villain has got so far (besides Bucky, I guess, although I haven't seen TWS yet and I don't know how much they show of what happened to him).

That said, it feels like they never tried hard with their villains. You can still make an impression in just one outing. We barely even understood Malekith's motivations with the screentime he got.
Obadiah Stane had his chilling moments (I still think the scene where he takes off Tony's power source in the first IM is wickedly good), but then he got in the Iron Monger armor and LULZ.

Dude, Iron Monger make me feel bad over mocking Malekith so much. That's how ridiculous it came off to me. Sorry.

The Iron Monger suit looks and feels so clunky.

Yeah, that's probably that. Or just the fact that OS was all snake-like before, and then switched to "LOOK, I HAVE MY OWN TOY, TOO, MWAHAH."
