I wonder who Thor has taken all that stubbornness and pride from, right Odin?

The growth of his character has been so great, even if he had to pay with such pain to gain it. Looking forward to see how he'll handle the realms at war - he'll probably look back to his bloodlust days and realize even more deeply how naive his views were.

I think he's gotten one of the best character developments in the MCU movies.

Yep. I know he learned his lessons very fast - his banishment on Earth lasted only a few days - but it felt natural because of the enormity of what he went through. Failed coronation, exile, being unworthy of Mjolnir, Loki telling him their father was dead and he couldn't go back home after the disruption he had caused. He hit rock bottom and that's when he realized all he could do now was accept it and channel the generosity and nobility he has already had inside in different ways.
The film seems to hint to Jane being the source of the catharsis (when Loki asks if it's the mortal woman what made him soft) but she was mostly just there to witness a process that started inside Thor when he landed on Earth and really took root after believing Odin and his family would be lost to him forever.
