I think that she never truly know what soul stone was suppose to do, but she only know that Thanos killed Gamora bec Gamora know where the soul stone at.. It seems that nobody can know what the soul stone suppose to do bec they can't spread to everyone else that it was to sacrifice their love for a soul.. Not sure if that made sense..

yeah, I guess you're right, nobody could really know that besides Thanos. but I think that after Tony and Nebula were rescued she could've told them about it, but maybe it didn't seem important at the time or they didn't think about it
