I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if, going forward, Natasha/Bruce is dropped, given a)the audience reaction to it, and b) the way AOU left off. It did have an ending in AOU.

Brutasha was clearly Whedon's choice, but going forward it would be up to the Russos/Feige to continue it. Whether that leads to Bucky/Nat or not sometime in the future, I don't know. But I would bet that the Russos are a fan of that pairing, being big fans of Ed Brukbaker's work.

I'll back out of this thread....since I'm not a fan of the pairing (I love Bucky/Nat, Steve/Nat, and wouldn't have minded Clint/Nat, so I'm open minded when it comes to Natasha (among other characters, as I multi-ship Steve and Bucky, too ) .

I just had a problem with the writing of this pairing. I went into the movie hoping it would work for me, but it just didn't. Glad it worked for those in this thread, though.

When it comes to canon ships, I mainly hope for romance that feels organic and natural to the characters and that the actors have chemistry.

In fanon, the possibilities are endless, especially with a connected universe like this one. That's what makes it fun to me.

Especially because they don't devote enough time to fully flesh out a romance so it seems really rushed.

I enjoyed Thor/Jane, and loved Steve/Peggy, and they came about in just one film.

For me, it's about how well the two characters fit together, and how they're written together. Steve/Peggy never felt forced to me, nor did Thor/Jane. I could see how both people in both relationships became drawn to, and fell for, one another.
