Carol Danvers is not one of Marvel's better characters, so I don't know how they'll do the whole "three-dimensional, multilayered" bit. If they wanted a good female character they could have gone with the She-Hulk or the '80s Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, both great characters and Monica is black too. I'm not terribly sold in Brie Larsen's acting talent either. I don't have high hopes for this film. The last time I had high hopes for a female character from Disney they gave us Rey and that was a bust.
