I personally think when award shows want to give awards to people after they passed away is really patronizing and insincere. I feel like they don't mean it and to it to make themselves look good. I feel they did the same thing when Heath Ledger passed away and everyone was giving him awards for his work as The Joker, especially the Oscars (and it was in 2009 when even nominating comic book films didn't exist to them at all) They still avoid awarding anyone for comic book films and I feel like it's the same with CB. If he was still alive I don't see them nominating him for this role and definitely won't give him the award (Especially their history with shunning AA actors over and over again, mainly in the leading categories) but since he passed away, they will. I personally have always had a problem with awards doing this for deceased actors cause it comes across fake to me. That's just how I feel.

I don't think that way, I mean, one of actor who overdose, he didn't win, so.... I mean, I never care about awards and all that, but at least most knew that he was amazing actor even tho they said about his acting before he passed..

That's why I knew if they gave it to Chadwick it would be nothing more than a pity, patronizing gesture cause he passed away. Especially when they haven't given any AAs a leading actor or actress Oscar in 20 years (and I don't see it happening again. Hell, I wonder how it even happened that ONE time before with these horrible stats towards POC every year) So they ultimately went back to their usual status quo. I don't even get why they set it up to be the last award of the night, then not give it to him cause that's obviously whey they changed the order around. No wonder this stuck up award show's ratings get low year after year. Their outdated lol.

I agree they are out dated but also I feel once an actor dies they feel they should automatically get an award ??

Honestly, I can see either him or Anthony would win it.. But either way, I hate how some said that they did that on purpose.. I mean, if they said that he won then people said that the reason he won bec he passed.. And if he lose then they used his death.. So there is no win-win.. Plus I don't know why people still watching this award when they did dirty to PoC actors/actresses, writers, directors, and more..
