I legit didn't know CA was called CA:FTA when I first watched it (i know very little about Marvel at that time) so I kind of just tagged everything as CA

I know in some countries, it was just called The First Avenger. And also, CA: TWS is called The Return of the First Avenger.

I didn't understand why they called it The Return of the First Avenger.

Don't know, but I think in part because America is still seen as the enemy to some countries so having America as part of the title may have been seen as crass?

Maybe.

I also don't like that they called The Avengers film Avengers Assemble. I can understand they wouldn't want it to be mixed up with the sixties series, but I don't like it.

Is it Avengers Assemble only in the UK or everywhere else too (besides the US)?

I believe it's only called Avengers Assemble in the UK to avoid confusion with the popular 1960's spy television series The Avengers with Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg, which was remade in 1998 as a feature film with Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes. I've heard that even the British think the name change is ridiculous, as if anyone could confuse the two.

I did wonder if we were the only county with that title. Thanks for that.

I lost my copy of the DVD but then I was like "OH. I still have another standard copy that came with the collector's set." But I found it under my bed so all is well.

I didn't really notice that it was called Avengers Assemble in the UK even though I did watch it in the UK

Did you watch it more than once?

I only watched TFA once at the theaters.

CA: TWS was the only Marvel film I've seen twice in the cinema.
