Thanks, Mee!

I watched the second episode, and enjoyed it more than the pilot. Before the series premiered, I didn't expect it to have a campy feel to it, but it's there sometimes - the whole Peru location thing didn't help yesterday. I still don't know how I feel about the acting from some cast members. BUT overall I liked the characters better in this second episode. I know I was very negative about agent Ward last week, but guy gets sht done. Melinda May remains the biggest BAMF of all, but I hope we get to hear her talk and show more of herself in future episodes. The cameo at the end was delightful!
I still think the show could use a good amount of improvement, though.

I just finished watching the episode, and pretty much everything you said, Fran. I love this episode a lot more than the pilot. And Agent Ward did grow on me after the episode. I love all the teamwork in this episode. (Omg when Melinda May saved the day and they are like a bunch of kids sitting there ) And yay for being suggested Skye should be the leader The cameo is nice also. And the jokes feel less forced.

It's definitely better than the pilot but yeah, I hope it gets better too

BTW, the episode totally stole the whole "Coulson is in danger/down and the team will set aside their conflicts and unite to take down the big threat" from The Avengers.

Haha, I think I'm one of the few who like Agent Ward. He's so used to being a one man machine that he's not used to working with babies (FitzSimmons). He was also less poopy (errr prickly) in this episode and even gave Fitz a man slap on the back. I think he broke Fitz with that back slap btw, judging from Fitz's reaction. Oh, and the babies were so awed, if a bit scared, of Agent May.

I couldn't hate on Ward in last night's episode. Besides, if there is someone trying to kill me, I'd want both him and Melinda having my back.
BTW I am still struggling with the knowledge that Fitz and Simmons aren't siblings - for some reason I took that fact for granted in the pilot, then read around and realized I had made a huge mistake.
The twist that Skye was still working for the anti-government group was a bit underwhelming.

The show had quite a drop in the ratings last night, although a dip after the pilot is a regular thing. I hope the numbers stabilize soon.

I think after the next few episodes, we'll find out who the fans of the show are. A lot of people jumped ship after the pilot.

Like I said in the UC/Slash thread, a lot of people ship Fitz and Simmons, but they give me such a sibling vibe and I think I quite like it that way.

Same here. So of course they are going to be the first pairing to hook up, because I have that crappy of a ship radar.

I don't root for anyone (yet, at least). But. If Phil and Melinda would like to... deepen their bond, I wouldn't mind.

When do you guys get Agents of Shield? They only just showed the pilot last week and I'm worried I'm really behind

They haven't even announced if they will air it in my country, yet. So, as always, I watch it thanks to the internet the day after it's been on in US.

Theresa, you're not that much farther behind then the US! We get the new episodes on Tuesday and then it's fast tracked in the UK on Fridays. We've only just gotten our second episode yesterday.

Oh that's good, only a few days. Then I know when to avoid the thread for spoilers. Thanks! Sometimes we get stuff like really late. There was mixed reviews on it here too. (based on the pilot).

Yep, only a few days behind, not months like how it usually is.
