I think Steve is by far the angstiest of all the heroes. He loses his parents, he's bullied, his mentor dies before helping him reach his full potential, his best friend is killed on a mission right in front of him, and he loses his chance at a life with the woman he loves. Not much good happens for the poor guy

I completely agree. In a way it makes Cap's story more interesting because he's had to go through so much to become this strong leader, and put behind him all the woes and troubles.

Yeah, that definitely seems to be Steve's theme. He keeps going despite everything that happens to him. Adversity really makes him a better hero
