They are the "saddest" couple in the movies imo. Thor/Jane still gets a chance to see each other again but Steve/Peggy...

Can I be added?
 I developed a soft spot for them after watching the CA movie. Perhaps part of it has to do with how much I enjoyed Peggy and Hayley Atwell's portrayal of the character in it (she is my favorite "love interest", out of all the films I've seen so far), but I also thought she and Steve had a lot of chemistry and very nice exchanges. Or maybe it's just that I'm a sucker for doomed romances.  I know very little about them in the comics. __________________
